Who fought is not your business. That's our internal issue.

The Nigerian state failed in EVERY ASPECT and you are part of it because instead of placing the blame on your government with the power to fulfill their promises you are shifting the blame to non-state actors who would never have existed if Nigeria is not the failed state that it is.

You should ask if Nigeria is honest about how it handles issues.

Don't tell me the militant leaders or governors will be angry if oil blocs, refinery licenses etc are allotted to the region.

Stop telling yourself a lie!

U still haven't answered my questions:

Who are your people that fought? Who are the "we" that are pleased with them?

What fight did ur people fight& what is d outcome of d fight?

What part of d bargain did d nigerian state not keep?

Are d militants, leaders and politicians from d Niger Delta honest about how they are handling d issues of d Niger Delta?

If they don’t apply and show capacity to successfully operate such fields, why should their names automatically be there?
Not saying they didn’t, but operating licenses are not like the ‘bribery’ security contracts that made the likes of Tompolo and others filthy rich!
>
Those licences are not given to people better than tompolo.
They are owned by corrupt elite who will now subcontract the Job to the multi national companies.

Why are the companies not named?
It's because they are more or less skeleton companies created overnight to parasite on the Niger Delta.

That is how alakija became rich.
Is alakija better than tompolo?

At least with tompolo, some of the wealth is going to a Niger deltan.

business is actually less tribalized than the political space ? Largest local producers are southerners: aiteo, Oando, shoreline, seplat, famfa, NDPR, Oranto, Moni Pulo, belema etc (the first 4 are by far the most developed local firms).

Northern firms of note are Sapetro (middle belt
Christian) and oriental. After that, how many northerners are really running oil production at the same level ?

Mind u a PH firm, Pelfaco, is the largest African upstream participant in Congo-Brazzaville.... there are many Igbo and Niger delta firms doing well. Many ppl get dredging jobs and other large prpjects to accumulate money and then branch into offshore support, oil production etc.

Alhajis are the most politically powerful, but they in no way run a monopoly.

The AKK (northern) pipeline is being done by an Igbo dude with Chinese ppl....
If the awardees were lopsided like everyone is speculating Im sure we would have heard by now

The bolded is none of your business!

My people fought for greater control of their resources and a stop to environmental degradation.

The outcome as things stand now is that the Nigerian national assembly has refused to make the necessary laws and Buhari as petroleum minister has failed to change some of the things he could through his position as petroleum minister.

That is not the question! The question should be; Are Nigeria's elected representatives honest enough? The answer is NO!

If Nigeria's elected representatives were honest enough they would change the laws.

Is danjuma and indimi better than tompolo?.

They get the oil Wells and give it to a multinational company to run for them while they earn billions of dollars sleeping.

Tommorow, you will see their children with white lions as pets and private jets.

PMB is the Petroleum Minister/President.

Sylva is a mere look-on.

The south fought the civil war against Biafra to win the oil and gas deposits in the Niger Delta for Arewa.

Stop the moaning and do something to reverse the trend.

The rigged political structure of Nigeria created by northern military dictators who proliferated too many states in Arewa north conceded political power and economic advantages to Arewa.

They have always applied and they have always been denied. Oga, it is not rocket science. Once you have an oil field license, consultants and other existing oil and gas companies would be standing in line to help you operate it in a very effective and functional way. All you need is the license. Trust me, 90% of those that were awarded these licenses are just going resale them.
Are you saying a Niger Delta man is not able to resale it for profit? The people you mentioned were never awarded oil well license, they were just pipe security subcontractors.

Yea my guy. Anyhow it will leak. Ppl really have a deep skepticism about these things. And it actually makes some otherwise would-be successes recede from engagement with the system. Many southerners are chopping these allocations. Firms from Lagos and PH esp. There will be Delta based firms too.

And mind u it is marginal fields. So not to be offloaded to IOCs. The acquirers have to run It well like a business. Chances are that the "northerners" would be ppl from Kogi etc. U wont see Katsina names per se. Tho the core northerners will dominate the decision making boards at dpr nnpc etc. No doubt.

A very simple example of the part of the bargain the Nigerian state failed to keep is infrastructure, modular refinery licenses for communities and increased participation for host communities in the upstream sector.

The reason why they are hiding the list of beneficiaries is that they know people will be unhappy.

Chief Government Ekpempulo and King Ateke Tom have done MORE as private citizens than the Nigerian state has done. None of them gets over $20 billion from the region every year, it is Buhari that gets that. You should asking him what he did with more than $120 billion in the last 6 years.

Tompolo and Ateke Tom (you can also add Dukubo Asari) all have gotten FILTHY RICH even as the ordinary Niger Deltan has gotten poorer...
Undoubtedly, they’ve given a few handouts and crumbs off their tables to the “masses” but they are substantively no different from other thieves.

If Nigeria is sincere about the Niger Delta, cut out the middlemen and rent-seekers and spend money DIRECTLY on/in the affected oil-producing communities (not in Asaba or even Port Harcourt). The poor people whose lives are most impacted upon and impoverished by oil exploration (either by seizing or damaging the environment and their farmlands, destroying their fishing livelihood by polluting the waters, damaging their health through poisonous emissions, etc.) are not overly bothered with (nor frankly have the capacity to benefit) from modular refineries or in fact marginal field licenses (albeit a percentage of the latter can be reserved for the affected communities). The NDDC (a veritable slush fund for Niger Delta politicians) spent N16 billion building its headquarters in a region severely lacking in clean water, schools and health clinics. SMH

Both men have done more than the Federal government of Nigeria has done for the people and they are not "FILTHY RICH". People that are filthy rich from the resources of the Niger Delta are people like T.Y. Danjuma and Folorunsho Alakija. They have in no way positively impacted their host communities in particular or the Niger Delta at large. We know what impact way smaller indigenous firms like Belema oil and Moni Pulo have made.
