CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by Seun(m): 10:13pm On Apr 18, 2011 |
Statement by the Congress for Progressive Change on the On-going Violence Caused by the Recent Electoral Fraud https://www.facebook.com/notes/kayode-ogundamisi/statement-by-the-congress-for-progressive-change-on-the-on-going-violence-caused/10150228728986171 I think the statement is too weak to end the violence. The beloved General himself needs to appear on TV and rebuke the violence in Hausa. |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by AljUche: 10:15pm On Apr 18, 2011 |
crap, i think Buhari should tell them to stop this on the television himself |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by Pataki: 10:22pm On Apr 18, 2011 |
Oh suddenly he is needed on TV? Like how NTA rejected his campaign advert and several other political opponents campaigns? Did he complain? Suddenly, you all want him on TV?? I hate violence. But given how the PDP has not given a fair ground towards this election, when we all know this has been building up for a while now. . . . . . we should be ready to deal with it. Meting out violence with violence only begets more VIOLENCE. |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by Moves: 10:25pm On Apr 18, 2011 |
Am I surprise that Buhari has failed to go on air to call for calm; Absolutely Not- Remember during the YarDua saga- he kept mute; Now the North is burning because he perceived the election was rigged; Over 24hours since the trouble started he is still keeping mute. Tony Princewell does not have the air of those demostrating so he might as well have kept his gob shut. |

Crude Oil: Nothing is happening in Port Harcourt or Owerri. He just added those places to divert attention. |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by muami(m): 10:48pm On Apr 18, 2011 |
I dont know why people are saying that Buhari should call his people to order. I think they should be allowed to burn down the entire North so that the rest of us in the country can live in peace. Afterall, when militants were operating in the Niger Delta, a Northern legislator said it was better for the Niger Deltas to be annihilated so that they can live in peace. So the same should apply now. 1 Like |

If buhari really had the interest of Nigeria at heart, he would have addressed his supporters immediately after there were reports of violence(which he encouraged) on sunday! |

Ileke-IdI: How can it be a joke? Did Buhari call for violence in 2003 and 2007 after his loss? |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by GP15: 11:57pm On Apr 18, 2011 |
Buhari pls come on air, cry for your supporters to stop this violence |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by superboi(m): 12:08am On Apr 19, 2011 |
GP15:Please Can All you guys stop being f*%KING EMOTIONAL!!!! Buhari owes us no responsibility to call off this murderer and arsonist! . We always politicize criminality in this country . These guys are criminals and the government should either arresst them or get them shot if they insist on continue being violent. And an investigation should be made into the disturbance and anybody found wanting of starting or fueling the violence should be punished. We have law and law enforcement agents we don't need Buhari, If we needed him he would have been voted president. |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by wesley80(m): 12:17am On Apr 19, 2011 |
@Pataki, If i got u correctly, your reasoning is that while CPC supporters unleash terror on the populace burning, maiming and killing, their rebel leader should remain quiet and ignore a platform that Just might help quell the senselessness on the streets cos they rejected his campaign jingle? Seriously, u mean its rational payback to ignore NTA and allow his political stronghold burn and his name forever etched in infamy? Is that what you'lld do if u were in his shoes? |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by soldee: 12:20am On Apr 19, 2011 |
@Superboi thank you!! Buhari is not leading Nigeria so Nigerians should stop looking to him to protect their lives and property! If armed robbers invade your house will you be calling on their gang leader to call off his boys or will you call the authorities?? |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by Kobojunkie: 12:24am On Apr 19, 2011 |
kai!! During the campaign period, many were content with the website as source of information on the Campaign. Even the newspapers got their reports off the same sites. Are we now saying it must be on TV for it to count? Does Buhari now have to buy airtime to get this on TV for the many poor and disenfranchised people of the north?

I don't get this o, is BUHARI THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF? this stupid president has replaced all the army chiefs with southerners why they f#ck is he not putting them to use? Buhari lost to Obasanjo and there was never violence, no need for him to appear on TV BECAUSE WE HAD A F$CKING COMMANDER IN CHIEF THAT KNEW HIS JOB! it is under this duck that the jos crisis has lasted for well over a year, under obj and yaradua it never lasted more than a week or a month! prior to the election this mugu of a president sent 6000 soldier to the SW 'to provide' security and forestall chaos what an idiot when was the last time the SW rioted over an election that didn't really have an significance for the region. |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by Obiagu1(m): 2:01am On Apr 19, 2011 |
What a lame statement! This is more or less an incitement to further fuel the fire. |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by Mariory(m): 2:21am On Apr 19, 2011 |
jmaine: It is great that this episode has exposed a lot of misguided people to what Buhari and his followers stand for. It didn't take long for their true colours to show despite all the lying during their nairaland picture campaigns. All this just because votes didn't count on the internet. |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by proproman(m): 2:26am On Apr 19, 2011 |
@ superboi, word. Why ask Buhari to come and cool things off, when there are law enforcement agencies in the country. Simply arrest and prosecute anybody found guilty of electoral violence. I thought we were all eager to see the back of "the tyrant", Buhari. Why turn around now t ask him t grace our TVs with his presence? we don't need Buhari, If we needed him he would have been voted president.I couldn't have said it better |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by Beaf: 2:26am On Apr 19, 2011 |
Obiagu1: The statement makes it quite clear that CPC see's the violence as a campaign strategy: 5. All CPC supporters should come out enmasse on April 26 to vote How low can they go? Why campaign with the deaths of fellow Nigerians? |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by proproman(m): 3:08am On Apr 19, 2011 |
@ Beaf, your man has won. Why are you still hounding BB's supporters. What d'you want them to do for you now, leave the country? |

Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by hercules07: 3:15am On Apr 19, 2011 |
Nigerians na wa, Buhari has condemned the violence, his party has condemned the violence, what else do you want him to do? Let NTA go to his house to interview him, at least then they can ask him to say something about the violence. Jonathan should man up and take the required decisions, does he think that leading Nigeria will be a bed of roses, he needs to take the tough decisions. |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by Seun(m): 3:16am On Apr 19, 2011 |
proproman:We are still hounding BB supporters because we have friends in the north whose lives are in danger. |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by hercules07: 3:28am On Apr 19, 2011 |
Seun call on Jonathan and the governors in those states to protect lives and property, they hold the power of coercion and they should use it, BB supporters will not be the ones to stop the violence, CPC and Buhari have called for calm. |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by Nobody: 3:33am On Apr 19, 2011 |
In times like these, the work of the government is to ensure security of lives and property and maintain law and order. The government should ensure that this is done and stop calling on Buhari. He is not part of the government. |
Re: CPC Statement On The Violence In The North by Johndoe100(m): 3:39am On Apr 19, 2011 |
The animals are at it again. Most CPC supporters are either northerners or Muslims. Now it is a fact that being either of the two implies a disposition to bestial behavior. A combination of the two guarantees it. Can't we just sterilize the beasts, so they can't have children? Those that are alive (is that the right word? Are they sentient?) can be taken care of by euthanasia. |
