If ramsom isn't paid and the victim is eventually killed by the kidnappers, what compensation will government pay to the victim's family?

Common will you close your mouth there. They don't even look human. Useless animals.

They aren't doing well yes. But Africans and their leaders should never be denigrated; they are not subhuman. Nigeria has had good presidents e.g. Shehu Shagari and Goodluck Jonathan.

This is foolishness at its peak.
Now, I understand why many Nigerians don't have hope in this country. Most Nigerian leaders are very incompetent. They just go into politics in order to improve their social lives.

Can you compare the security system in UK and USA with Nigeria? But you are using these countries as examples. What a shame!

How would it be known that ransom was paid where security agencies are unable to rescue victims or identify the criminals?

Lately, it's alleged that many state governments have been paying ransom secretly to bandits. It's better to save lives and lose money than do otherwise.

Until the security agencies are able to handle the worsening Insecurity in Nigeria, government at all levels must continue to pay ransom to secure the release of innocent victims.
well said our politicians have become experts in twisting narratives.....taking what suits their argument and deliberately forgetting it is part of a whole body. This is similar to what pastor's do

The Senator made some very good points. The amount paid as ransom to kidnappers is highly exorbitant. This has led many into kidnapping because they see it as a very profitable venture.

May someone you know ,not be kidnapped. The primary duty of any govt is to provide security. If this fails, you cannot blame people who pay ransome to save their loved ones.

There would be no demand for kidnapping if the value dissappears,in other words, if people stop paying there would be no incentive to kidnap.
Hmmm, this your point is another angle to look at it. But blood is thicker than water,as a parent will you pay anything you have to have your kidnapped child released than to see him die miserably in the hands of bandits, It's natural.
Even if the law is passed, people will damn the consequences and pay ransom to have their loved ones back.
