Governor Ikpeazu Organizes Meeting Of Stakeholders To Improve Security In Abia State (Photos)

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is organizing a meeting of key stakeholders in Abia State in order to tackle the security challenges in the state, IgbereTV reports.

The governor revealed this on his Twitter handle. He wrote;

"Following the need to constantly evaluate the security situation in our State, continue to ensure the safety of lives & property of our people & check pockets of attacks on security formations, I summoned State Exco members for a cabinet meeting in Aba on Monday where we deliberated on additional measures needed to strengthen our security architecture to forestall such further attacks on our security personnel by yet to be identified hoodlums.

We have also decided to organize a security roundtable involving key stakeholders in the state to review the prevailing situation and further recommend measures to continuously improve security in the State.

The roundtable which is expected to last for about 36 hours, will hold in Umuahia the state capital, and is expected to bring together serving & retired security personnel of Abia origin, Chairmen of LGAs & Traditional Rulers with a view to recommending lasting solutions to the current challenges.

On the part of government, I am particularly committed to channeling every needed & available resources to bring the situation to a quick end.

These are some of the proactive steps which include the subsisting curfew in parts of the State, we've taken so far, and I'm sure that in no distant time, our security agents will no longer have to contend with attacks on their facilities. I therefore urge all law abiding citizens in the State to go about their legitimate businesses without fear of molestation or harassment.

Nonsense! Who is the chief security officer of the state? Our governor's will be there speaking grammar while there state burns.

Create jobs for the youths and insecurity won't be an issue. Lagos did that some years with some youth empowerment scheme and they are still doing it till now. Stop coarsing your people into having more churches and fewer industries.

Wonderful, but then IPOB is a veritable stakeholder in Abia but I do not see their representatives listed here.

We need to attend to issues holistically if we at least have a genuine interest in creating sustainable solutions.

The insecurity in the state is non-organic hence the right approach should be to secretly fish out saboteurs and chase out terrorists!
The easiest ways to chasing out terrorists is to infiltrate their organization.
So many states in Nigeria are been used as testing ground by terrorists group to ascertain the viability of Terrorism.

Atleast David Umahi has started speaking the truth that IPOB is not the problem but FG on manner of handling the crisis. We are watching to see how the IG another disastrous order will end.
