President Muhammadu Buhari has said the death of Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 other military officers in last Friday’s air crash has increased the country’s problems, especially at a time the country is battling security challenges.

He said this yesterday when he received a delegation of Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, who were on a condolence visit following the air crash that killed Attahiru and 10 others.
The delegation was led by the NGF Chairman and Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; with his colleagues, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caretaker Committee Chairman and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, and Governor Sani Bello of Niger State.

Buhari said only God knew why the crash happened and expressed resolve to continue to work hard hoping that God would provide the enablement to deal with challenges.

“This is a situation that only God knows when it will happen, and it happened at a time when the security situation in the country is a fundamental issue. And to lose choice officers has increased our problem, but we know what we are in for, and we will continue to work hard and pray hard so that God will give us the power to appreciate and apply ourselves to the problem. The people who elected us, they know the promises we made within the time, the circumstances which we find ourselves, we will keep on trying and continue to do our best,” the president said.

Fayemi commiserated with the administration over the death of the officers.He recalled that the president heeded their requested for the change of service chiefs, noting that the impact of the action was already being felt.

Meanwhile, President Buhari has approved the postponement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting scheduled to hold tomorrow (Wednesday), June 2.

He also directed the police council meeting, scheduled for Thursday, May 27, be postponed to Thursday, June 3, in honour of the memory of the late Chief of Army Staff and 10 other senior military officers and service men.

Always looking for opportunity to give excuses for his failure. Now you have the opportunity COAS is dead, you used the opportunity very well.

His death and others have increase Nigeria problem, not Buhari’s fault so Nigerians should take note.


Let’s wait and see how long it will take him to carry out another nepotism appointment of new COAS

The president is slow in appointing people into strategic positions, with the IGP and service chiefs delayed appointments as examples.
Though we all know the part of the country the replacement will come from, it might take another six months.

If the killings across Nigeria that the Fulani perpetrate on daily are carried out by the Igbos or ijaw , not only would a POGROM BEGIN, BUT A CIVIL GENOCIDE would have been completed..

A death of a dozen or so people shouldn't increase the problem of a country if there is a proper structure in place.
I am sorry to say, but this man scream incompetence and some of the things he says are cringe worthy.
This is obviously a reflection of an average Nigerian - the never ending assault that has been going on for a while, the result of which produced a man like Buhari.

Na your family and personal problem go increase Mr man, don't say all of us. Say the truth to your Fulani brothers and all this death and hunger will stop. You bleeped d economy up, u created hunger and suffering, you blocked d border, u banned food items that u kno its local production will not b sufficient for d masses and u are not even assisting in the local production of all those items. people decided not to wait for d govt and resorted to farming due to excessive hunger, even youths that doesn't know anything about farming before ventured into agriculture with some ending up in hospital after putting in much energy and stress leading to sickness because un mechanized farming requires very hard labor and this is not something most have done before (am a witness to this), all these for survival just because criminalty was never and will never b in their blood. Just because u hav become president, your Fulani people went to all the states of the country killing people and mostly farmers, you chased all those people including the farmers that have been helping d poor masses from dieing like fowls on d street ever since u became d president from d farms and fed it to ur cattles. With d use of d military,ur people kill, tape and kidnap people that are struggling to survive under you including farmers and u pretend not to b aware of all these. Do u realize d price of food items in d market now including non agricultural products and u claim to pray five times daily. The truth is u are not a Muslim, you just a Fulani or rather an Infidel. After all this, I know there are good Fulanis out there but very rear to find.

I won't insult the president on this, but I do know that certain things are avoidable if we do the needful. If the Blackbox has been recovered, what was the possible cause or causes of the crash. It is only when we have investigated and still don't find or have answers that we can now resign to date.

God himself has given us the power to research and probe things. This black man's "only God knows" answer to every problem in life is the reason why we are where we are.
