Your vehicle has a sealed transmission. You need to visit a competent mechanic to ascertain the condition and/or level of the fluid.

Lol. Actually put myself in big time gbese with my 2007 toyota camry XLE with same condition. the self acclaimed gear box specialist overfilled the gear oil and it damaged my gear completely. Im scared of risking it again. since all these gear specialists are bunches of trial and error.

First things first, why do you want to service your gear?

You may just use your own hands to invite trouble upon thyself.

i just feel after a year or two of purchase, one should service the gear. but for my camry that had his gear damaged, it wasnt selecting properly, most especially in the morning. but after driving for a long time and mostly in the noon-time, it works well. so i was told to change the gear oil by the so-called gear specialist, which later got damaged.

What I did in similar condition was to look at the owner's manual to determine the type and quantity of oil to use. I asked my mechanic to empty the gear oil out and refill with the new oil I bought. I was with the mechanic to ensure he doesn't over fill it because I already new the quantity needed

here, you're erroneously blaming technicians.

Here you explained what happened.

From the both quote, I infer that no transmission technician damaged your transmission. The transmission was already on its way out. It's not about over gauging or under gauging. The first thing most FSM (factory service/repair manual) will tell you about transmission repairs or trouble shooting is to change fluid. If changing fluid can't work, a thorough troubleshooting will follow suit then a decision whether to replace or repair the defective transmission will be made.

Oh thanks so much. I think this is key too. Noted with thanks
