Funny how IGBOS suddenly celebrate the down turn of Rivers .. Tomorrow they will be saying south south is BIAFRA . Well let it happen this way so south south will know igbos are only interested in your oil and sea access not you people . Finally I keep telling rivers nairalanders that you guys are living on past glory after bayelsa and Abia state are done with you guys , you be begging Akwa Ibom for money grin

Imo state took back their territory that was ceded to Rivers. Nobody is wishing them bad luck.

PS= Delta and Akwa Ibom top the chart. They're not anywhere close to Lagos or Dubai with all the oil money . South South should be competing with Lagos...

You no dey real at all. Abi google no dey your phone ?
The only Oil producing Area in Ondo state is the ILAJE not Ijaw as you claimed.
Ijaw no get oil for ondo state.
Na only Ilaje communities get oil for the entire south west.
Hence the they have the NDDC and Osopadec Reps.

Read, Comprehend and learn.

In 1948, crude oil exploration started in Ondo by Shell D'Arcy and not even a grain sand was discovered. Suddenly the Nigerian idiotic politics led by Yoruba man named Obasanjo discovered crude oil all over Ondo. Nigeria is a real shithole.

If lands belonging to abịa and Imo thst was ceded to rivers state are recovered, rivers will probably not be oil rich as much as they re today. They would probably be 2nd or third in oil producing in Nigeria... Fact.

A lot of oil wells belonging to Southeast States especially Imo and Abia were ceded to Rivers but it's still marginal compared with offshore.

Ode, it didn't start because the white explorers had to leave for the world war 2! When they came back (new explorers btw), it was done at olobiri! Sink that into your Uselesss skull. Btw, Check the names of the oil wells in Ondo state, you would realise they're Yoruba communities! Ode.

Imo state should sue Rivers State for decades of illegal revenue diversion

Exactly my point. It'll be fair to repatriate all revenues generated by these oil wells to Imo State. Anything short of this is totally unacceptable. For those giving Hope Uzodimma credit, you need to know that Gov Ihedioha iniated this process which angered Gov Wike who warned him not to create a problem between them at that time.

It doesn't matter if the world is moving away from fossil fuels, at least we still have years to go before the switch will be completed. Again, oil and gas has several other industrial uses that makes it vital such as in the production of fertilizer, polymer products, bitumen for road construction, power generation etc.

Don't be fooled, oil and gas will still remain one of the most important natural resources even in the foreseeable future!!

Okay!!
Nobody says they are not an important resource. Demand is falling as alternative sources are being explored. What happens when demand is low and supply is in excess? Price falls…

Oil and Gas with low prices in not exactly an economic boom!!! More like an economic doom!

Ode with loudmouth, WWII ended in 1945. The crude oil exploration resumed in 1948. You are not only Yoruba peep who seemed heavenly confused with cardinal dates on calendar. The lack of simple reading of calendar should have "Oluwole" to be blamed. I should have educated Ode on the crude oil exploration in the cesspit called Nigeria but decided otherwise. No body is celebrating downfall of so called south south. Everybody is encouraging the right thing to be done. There is no gain in propaganda and subjugation.
Even the biafra you made reference to had south south people leading key offices in their army and administration.

The Igbo man is not known for that and can never be known for power marginalization, they are more concerned about their shops and businesses grin

Still nothing to show for Ohaji egbema people. The roads there are in worst shapes. From owerri to Egbema see how terrible the roads are. No NDDC projects. The only water project for Obosima community was abandoned at the point of completion the community didn't make use of the project for a single day before it was abandoned for more than 10 years now. Honestly this country is a mess. We need to start to hold our leaders accountable from the community thats when things will be better. We should stop voting for wicked and selfish people as our leaders. Is very painful

The new PIB will address those concerns.

All oil-bearing communities should be celebrating the passage of the bill.

However, the Senate and the House of Reps have to agree on 5% given to the host communities.
