NEW findings on the indictment of Abba Kyari over the ongoing trial of a Nigerian fraudster, Ramon Abbas aka Hushpuppi, on Thursday, revealed how the police officer allegedly received N8 million from the suspect.

According to a 69-page document sighted by The ICIR, the payment was for two different transactions paid into GT Bank and Zenith Bank accounts, presumed to facilitate the arrest of Vincent Chibuzo, an accomplice of Hushpuppi.

Chibuzo had attempted to outsmart Hushpuppi in a fraudulent $575,000 deal that later led to his arrest by Kyari’s team.

“This was not the only time that Abbas [Hushpuppi] arranged payments with Kyari,” a charged sheet signed by Andrew John Innocenti, a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Patricia Donahue, a U.S Magistrate Judge read.

It is titled Criminal Complaint by Telephone or other Reliable Electronic Means.

The dollar equivalent of the deposited sum was pegged at $20,600, as of then.

In a declared affidavit sworn before the U.S District Court for the Central District of California, Innocenti said “On May 20, 2020, Abbas sent Kyari transaction receipts for two transactions from accounts at Nigerian banks (GTBank and Zenith Bank) of a person Abbas knew in the UAE – a person also arrested with Abbas in Abbas apartment in the UAE by the Dubai Police on June 9, 2020, to the Nigerian bank accounts of another person in Nigeria.

“The amounts on the transaction totalled 8 million Nigerian naira, which approximately $20,600 based on publicly available exchange rate information.”

Is the $550k deal part of $1.1 m deal?

If Kyari received paltry $20k out of $1.1m, why should he be person of interest to FBI?

Is FBI going to prosecute Kyari for bribery case in Nigeria or that's the duty of NPF?

If this are the documents some people are relying on to nail Kyari, then I might have to tell them they could probably being wasting their time except if there are more solid documents

You are the one that should be reasonable by answering the questions I raised

You guys are quick to make ridiculous allegations about others but whenever you are being asked a question about your allegations, tantrum is the next.

Answer the questions or shut up

Unfortunately, all the documents needed are liquid.

So if an armed robber gave his father-in-law N10K when his share was over a million naira, the police (Abba Kyari and Nigeria Police, especially) will let the father-in-law go?

It's time we know the actual criminals and their supporters.

Abba Kyari should travel to U.S. if he’s sure of his tailor defence: Falana

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has challenged Nigeria’s deputy police commissioner Abba Kyari to submit himself to the jurisdiction of the District Court in the United States if he is not guilty

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has challenged Nigeria’s deputy police commissioner Abba Kyari to submit himself to the jurisdiction of the District Court in the United States if he is not guilty of allegations against him.

Mr Kyari had denied any wrongdoing after Peoples Gazette on Thursday broke the news of his embroiling with Nigerian Internet fraudster Ramon Abass known as Hushpuppi, in a multimillion-dollar fraud.

Court documents revealed an order to arrest and detain Mr Kyari after Mr Abbas pleaded guilty to large-scale cyber fraud in the U.S. recently. The documents also exposed how Mr Abbas bribed Mr Kyari to arrest one of his gang members following a dispute presumably over the proceeds of crime. The police officer arrested and detained the gang member.

Claiming no wrongdoing, Mr Kyari, in a statement on Facebook, narrated how Mr Abbas called him two years ago to complain about a person threatening to kill his family.

He said the suspect was released after discovering there was no threat to anyone’s life, “and they are longtime friends who have money issues between them.

“Nobody demanded a kobo from Abbas Hushpuppi,” claiming that he only introduced Mr Abbas, who paid N300,000 to his cloth vendor.

“Later, he saw some of my native clothes and caps on my social media page, and he said he likes them, and he was connected to the person selling the clothes, and he sent about N300k directly to the person’s account,” added Mr Kyari. “The native clothes and caps (five sets) were brought to our office, and He sent somebody to collect them in our office.”

Reacting to Mr Kyari’s claims, Mr Falana said, “The United States and Nigeria have an extradition treaty which covers the offences allegedly committed by CP Abba Kyari.”

“If the police officer insists on his innocence, he may want to submit himself to the jurisdiction of the district court in the United States. Once the request is received by the federal government, the attorney general will commence extradition proceedings in the federal high court.”

Additional details in the indictment file contained how Mr Kyari left his job as a police officer and travelled to Dubai to enjoy a good time with Mr Abbas, who lived at Palazzo Versace in the Emirati commercial capital.

Unfortunately, the law doesn't look at it from the perspective of whether he received big or small.

The fact that he received payment for criminal services is all that is needed to put him in the basket with them.

If he didn't even receive a cent, he is still culpable by the fact that he used his position to kidnap Chibuzor for a whole month in order to prevent the the latter from exposing Hushpuppi's crime. He is an accessory.

I wanted to ignore your post but I was forced to reply you.
First, Abba Kyari is supposed to stand for what is right base on his office and position, supporting criminalities and criminals is enough to nail him. The crime committed was not to Nigerian, the person is a foreign citizen and the FBI have the right to call Abba Kyari for questioning. Don't forget, USA is not like Nigeria where anything goes, US is known for due process. If Abba Kyari is innocent, just advice him to take a break from work and travel to USA to defend his name, Nigeria police force and the Country. If he is innocent, I will support the country to make him Inspector General of police.

Falana should shut-up, how many times have American repatriated their security personnels who commit crimes in Africa, back to Africa, SMH, the same Nigerian mentality, that makes them believe that asking for secession from a stupid British contraption is a crime.
