DAKAR, Senegal — Abba Kyari, the chief of staff of Nigeria’s president and one of the most powerful men in the country, died on April 17 in a cardiology hospital in Lagos. He was said to be 67.


The cause was complications of the new coronavirus, the Lagos state government said. Senior government officials attended his burial the next day in Abuja, the capital, and were criticized by medical officials and health workers for doing so and for not practicing social distancing.

Mr. Kyari amassed more power than any previous chief of staff in Nigeria. Anyone who wanted to see President Muhammadu Buhari, including ministers and Nigeria’s influential state governors, had to go through him.

Abba Kyari was not an extremist. He was an intelligent man who was loyal and trustworthy.

Mr. Onyeama, who is Nigeria's Foreign Affairs Minister, showed evidence that the Late Kyari was his best man in his church wedding at the United Kingdom when they were younger.

Would Salami (the AGF) or Pantami even attend Church? They are the most powerful people in Buhari's government since Kyari's demise.

Kyari was able to keep his friendship with Geoffrey Onyeama for more than 3 decades and was most likely responsible for his position in the Federal Executive Council.

Abba Kyari was not greedy. He didn't have a plan to contest for a political office in future, at least he didn't show interest like most politicians do.

Whether it's curse or not, all i know people that bears that name are so wicked and mean, but their end is always miserable.

Late chief of staff wanted to pocket this zoo in his pocket, but God showed him the way.

A fraud of a cop turned tailor wasted so many innocent youths with no mercy, commit all sort of crimes in police uniform. It's high time he face and pay for all is evil against humanity.
