Striking resident doctors on Tuesday said the Federal Government had refused to pay their August salary in compliance with the no-work no-pay rule it recently invoked.

The National President of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors, Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi, confirmed this development to The PUNCH.

The resident doctors had on August 2, 2021 embarked on strike.

All efforts so far made by the government, including approaching the National Industrial Court, to ensure they resume work had not yielded any result with the striking doctors insisting that all their demands must be met.

The development forced the government to invoke the no-work no-pay rule.

In an interview with our correspondent on Tuesday, Okhuaihesuyi said none of NARD members in federal institutions had received their August salaries.

He said, “They did not pay, they implemented it (no-work no-pay rule).

“None of our members in federal institutions have received their salaries.

“It is so sad that instead of meeting our demands, the government keeps ignoring the main reason for the strike.”

War in progress.

Well the fact is the chickens have come home to roost. Goverment promised to diversify the economy. They haven't, and we are still stick with oil.

Modified

The issue I have with the goverment is simple. We don't earn enough money because we are a monoeconomy. And since 2015 they haven't done much to change that narrative

grin Awesome! if they like let them all go to Saudi Arabia or fcking forcefully take them all away to north Korea for reeducation. They're feeling like they're not Nigerian because of cramming drugs name and guessing symptoms and diseases. I prefer google to fcking mediocre Nigerian doctors.

Communism is the answers to Nigerian problems. everyone feeling like they're bigger than the country. this fcking Nard president probably bought by PDP to sabotage the health sector. Anyways I prefer holistic medicine than the poisons made by big pharma. There are good traditional doctors. 90% of Nigerian doctors are corrupt Nigerian leaders children. Show me any poor man child that got MBBS admission and I will resurrect the dead

Hmmmmmmmm....what this government cannot do does not exist!

A government that has repeatedly reneged on her part of agreement signed with these Doctors & is yet to pay up outstanding salaries/allowances that these Doctors already worked for, is now quick to implement the "no work no pay" rule because these professionals decided to down tools in protest against the gross injustice from the government...

Walahi, this government is shameless!

They should drag even private doctors into the strike because the only thing this Fulani government understands is violence or they should just move to Australia or Saudi Arabia that’s in need of them.

Deep Quote:
Citizens suffer when there is a bad leadership in power!

Such is the case in Nigeria.
This useless clueless buhari led terrorists infested incompetent administration maladministration prefers to make terrorists VIPs and also pay huge monies ransoms to bandits rather than pay up hard working professionals working for the economic and financial growth of the nation!
Very pathetic! SMH.
600yrs of hard sufferings to all the useless online urchins that still root for this present plague as APC leadership!

Reason I keep stating to the young peeps online to embrace Online /Remote job which is bae and without all these hassles associated with offline jobs.

In another news if you have access to internet and browsing gadget but you ain't earning from your online activities then you are very unwise.
Reach out via the facebook Id to know if you have something that can help you earn online for a token mentorship of $20.....ill charge for two reasons ;
# To enact seriousness on your part
# The certainty of the fact that you'll start earning after @least 4weeks of mentorship as long as you are diligent and follow tasks given to you.

Hmmmm

Both parties are right ,the doctors deserve better and the employers should not pay for services not rendered during strike so as not to encourage others to use any dispute to go on strike and get paid for not working while making money in private practice , My advice for doctors is why not render services in line with pay instead of outright strike and my advice for employer is to be transparent with the doctors to let them know what they can afford to pay and reason together on acceptable terms while working towards getting better pay.

You refused to work but you want to be paid

Your goverment refused to pay them a decent wage, and provide decent facilities, and in many instances refuse to pay them for months on end, and you expect them to keep on working?

You BMC guys are just like the PDP guys.
