SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

What will a Windows 8 PC be? A few rough ideas:

A 2.5GHz quad-core ARM chip-based Windows 8 tablet?

Newfangled Windows 8 tablet-centric hybrid with slider keyboard?

Motorola Atrix smartphone-with-laptop-dock kind of device?

Tried-and-true clamshell laptop sporting a high-performance ARM chip?

I CAN'T AGREE MORE
Microsoft have the reputation of getting it wrong before they get it right. Lets hope that the good ideas they have now will be perfected (post-windows 8 ) in the 9th edition - 2015.

Windows 95 wasn't rubbish. It was a Game changer.
You also forgot Windows 2000. And that definitely wasn't rubbish.

Your comment on 'smearing finger on the screen' is borderline m'oronic when you consider the 25 million people that bought an ipad last year.

You do realize that most Windows 8 systems will be Intel and AMD x86 CPU based? And that Microsoft has stated that the minimum requirements should be the same or less than Windows 7?
All you're mentioning above is ARM processor based systems.

Calm down,

When its comes to system requirements and microsoft, u of all peeps shd

knw that they can not be trusted. Do you know that microsoft is shifting its

concept to touch screen devices?? Add the whole graphical thingy plus the

usual gaming you do and tell me if the system requirements i stated have a chance to be

correct or not!!! heck, windows 7 mobile gaming hasnt even be polished yet, Anyways, lets

wait and see, that all i can say!!!

Why do you come online chat shyt everytime? If more than 25 million people bought ipad last year, does it make it sensible for everyone to enjoy touchscreen?

Have you seen anyone that solely depend on ipad without the conventional pc? For this OS to be deployed successfully, do you realize that you have to change your hardware which I don't intend doing?

Most companies are just embracing windows 7 and M$ is planning on releasing a new OS in 2012, does that make sense?

why is microsoft always copying mac. We have had all these features in Mac for years its funny that are just gonna start appearing on windows and am pretty sure it will be buggy as usual.

No thank u i will stick with my Mac Leopard

Funny how Nigerians react to stuffs,

Most will still buy the OS, be it pirated or original copy, Or simply download and install just like I did.

Though it still has lots of bugs and still has a long way to go before its final release,  It isn't so bad.

It is only a matter of time before it hits a market,

The criticism is good sha,  But I'll advice all those who feel Microsoft should step up its game to stop repeating same thing they read about in blogs,  those are the opinion of tech experts,

Please, find sometime to check it yourself ,  Report any flaws you deduce from your findings.

See y'all in weeks to come

.iso mounting
builtin PDF reader
appstore

These are features that have been in Linux distros for years now. It's a pity Windows users will have to wait till 2012 to get it.

Full Windows 8 Guide and Details below
You can ask questions and i would respond

First Windows 8 is the Successor to Windows 7 released On October 22,2009 which sold 350 M units as of last month,
Since the Release of Windows 7 the game of computing change, like Cloud and Touchscreen and the smartphone invasion that makes us do less with our PC hence the "Post - PC" Era as some people decide to call it esp Apple Fanboys
With Windows 7 they was Netbooks as iPad affected the sale of it and with 20million iPads sold the tablet game is attractive
Hence the two Versions of Win 8 Tablets and our Good old normal Desktop Win 8
It does support ARM and of course X86, with SoC like the Kal-el (tegra 3 ) or the Quad core Snapdrogon at 2.5Ghz per core

Tablet Version
It is based on the Tiles rather than icons which is very good, instead of going to the weather app by touching the icon we could see the Weather simply via the tiles, it is like WP7 and like everything Microsoft nowadays, the Metro Design Language is visible,

Desktop Version
Due to be announced in PDC in septmeber and enter beta by then,
Among its feature are:
Facial Recognition - use your face to logon
Ability to wae your PC and go to sleep using Proximity Sensor + webcam - it can go to sleep if it notices theres nobody and can wake up when the user is back and it notices that
Inbuilt PDF Reader- Called Modern Reader
Ability of more DiskCleanup
IE 10
Faster startup and shutdown times- supper fast
Installation in 8 mintues
Can restore the PC to its original state in 2 minutes
Ability to carry your WIndows on a USB stick of 16Gb or above
Syncing witht he cloud- Using a Live ID located at the botom right of the taskbar when you sign it it can synce your settings so you get it on any win 8 PC
Better Games of Windows
Added the Ribbon from Office into the Explorere
no more BSOD it is Black not blue maybe
Windows AppStore,
Better security,

It is due to be released in 2012 but the tablet coming out first ,
More details if you ask me,
