Any Alternatives To Western Union And Money Gram? by unclecycs: 11:16am On Jun 05, 2011
Hello people,
Can anyone suggest any other methods I could use to receive funds (forex) in nigeria from overseas .I have been dealing with relatives in the UK who send money to nigeria and now they insist that WU and MG are too expensive .

Can anyone suggest alternatives.

You can tell them to open an account called Nigerians Living in Diaspora
with GT Bank. Their fees is way lower than WU/MG.

Use a company called DT & T. Their operation is similar to WU & MG but they are much less expensive and their exchange rate is very competitive indeed. Please see link to their website below

@naijababe Indeed I just checked out DT&t ,,,quite frankly their charges are indeed very reasonable, Snag is I wonder which nigerian banks are tied in to DT&T services, been checking nigerian banks and am yet to see any ,

@wealthbee1.   .thanks 4 ur concern, indeed I know about domicilliary accounts, and the last time I did things with one, the charges where not very encouraging

@ jazes, am guessing I would need to open a similiar account with GTB, or would a domicilliary account suffice?

@all, a big thanks for the contributions while I explore all raised suggestions for the one that bests suits my purpose
