You go suffer am pass us. Even with the damaged pipeline, there is constant free light in Omoku for more than 15 years. You're there in Lagos paying bills and suffering. Anyway, I'll be coming to Lagos soon to start my importation business in full.

If you go to Omoku, they won't sell land to you — you're a stranger, so you can only be a tenant.

People from Omoku have plots of lands all over Lagos, so Lagos is ours just the same way the Fulanis says the oil is theirs.

Lastly, if all the oil well in the Niger Delta gets shut down, you won't have fuel to paddle your Keke or car. Don't also forget, the oil money was used to develop Lagos when it was the capital.

In summary, if they blow up everywhere and there is nothing more to blow, but hunger in town, the bad boys will relocate to Lagos and make your city life unbearable just the same way herdsmen are doing. So, people in Lagos are more in danger if everywhere gets blown up.

all u wrote was on point but oil was not used to develop lagos. lagos was mainly built by coal then supported by cocoa n groundnut

I’m from Delta state I understand the scenario of how it is in oil region, before these people voice out their grievances asking agip to deal with them directly some group of lion must have been collecting the money from behind. My father own a house that has pipeline crossed his land till date being he is a soft man one naira don’t get to him, Collecting such money you must have to show them what you’re capable of doing or else no one will listen to you.

I pity Niger deltans, with the current event and what happened in the oil market during the peak of covid-19, if nothing is being done to savage their land, they will suffer for it in years to come.
In the next 30 to 40 years time, oil would become irrelevant, the worth of oil will no longer be encouraging. If that should happen, what would be the fate of Nigeria and Niger deltans as a whole?
What will now save the situation, question that really needs an answer

Salvage. A sensible question Niger-Delta leadership should be brainstorming on but sadly, it is still about themselves and their families. ARE POLITICIANS INTERESTED IN THE TOMORROW OF ANYBODY EXCEPT THEMSELVES?

At the bolded will sitting down hoping and praying bring a sustainable solution? The answer is a resounding NO. Because that is what we have been doing all this while, praying and hoping for better days. Even without blowing up oil facilities, the activities of these oil firms alone are polluting the environment already and the government is doing nothing about it.
and you action is to blow up the installation and pollute the communities the more?

YES, after all the environment is already being polluted even without blowing up oil facilities. Tough times call for tough measures.

Please, kindly correct the name of the LGA. It's Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, not Andoni which is an LGA on its own and a riverine area different from Ndoni.
Thank you.
Apologies.

You have a point about the cocoa, but it's good to note that cocoa money started it, but oil money finished it. Now, tax money from all Nigerians living in Lagos is handling the rest with some federal allocations.

Nigeria discovered oil in 1956 and Abuja took over from Lagos as the capital city in 1991. This is to say, 1991 down to 1956 is 35 years.

So, it's wrong to think 35 years, after oil was discovered, and Lagos was still the capital, money from oil wasn't used to finish what cocoa money started.

All I'm trying to say is: Lagos was still the capital when oil was discovered and it benefited immensely from it before Abuja took over as the capital in 1991.

That's the point I'm trying to make.

Before the whole community will be polluted and declared unviable a lot would have happened, the government and the oil firms would have attended to my issues with urgency. Because the destructive effect would be felt more by them. We read here that a certain state suspended its budget due to ordinary VAT issues. Shutting down and blowing up the oil facilities in the Niger Delta will have more damaging effects even on the government and the oil firms than the Niger Deltan. This country can't survive even for just a week without the sale of crude oil. Only VAT issues are making some states go bankrupt let alone crude oil.

That is what ogoni people thought would happen!
She'll and the fg will listen to them and settle!
But what happened?

She'll in ogoni totally shut down
The oil spill is still there till tomorrow!
They went to court and went to UN .for where
The people (she'll).are no more in Nigeria!
Ogoni are left to manage whatever life dealt them.

Then came the great shutdown the nation by militants not because of the communities but because of the amnesty program .
What was the result?
All the niger delta states got bankrupt.
All state economic activities grounded from hospitals to local govt to street hawker to village head.the states went back to the fg to beg for money to pay salaries .
Fg was balling because it now has the states in its debt trap.
After militants got there amnesty money nko!(after pandef went to beg buhari).
Did the communities receive shi shi?

You don't know yet. A time will come, even after oil has come and gone, or Nigeria has come and gone, the people of the Niger delta must hold to account all those who exploited our resources and destroyed our lands. Whether it be 500yrs, we shall become a pain to you all.

There are experts for such exercise, the oil firm workers are not the ones who will do the cleaning, rather the oil firms will fund the cleaning exercise. Ogoni was a clear case of taking peanut and closing your mouth. Crooks benefitted, and are still benefitting from the mess on Ogoni.

Where is the hypocrisy?

What do you want from oil producing communities?

A set of persons who are basically interested only in monetary rewards and were not captured in the amnesty program are blowing up oil installation.thereby pitching the community against the fg.
And you are saying hypocrisy

One, which experts from anywhere in the world would want to risk his life to come and work in an area/community that plays with explosives to express it's grievance!
Two,if crooks are benefiting from the pain of ogoni and is it angels that want the best for the other oil producing communities

Ogoni has not produced a drop of oil since wiwa died but the rest of the oil producing regions from Lagos to akwa Ibom are producing.
It is the production that is keeping the people of ogoni alive till tomorrow
