Mehn, things have changed. We can always thank God. Recently I introduced a bikeman to my son; henceforth, this man would take you to and from school, work is very demanding lately.
Can you believe that this 4 year old boy refuse and insist if I'm not taking him, then he's not going to school.
We forced him the first day and the okada man narrated what he went through.
He didn't even bother to come back the following day.

Africa is gradually loosing her cultural values that were left behind by her ancestors due to the emergence of social media and our brothers in diaspora have brought western values and it has brough us shame, pain and catastrophe. The discipline inflicted in children of nowadays is very minimal. Society should expect more of what happened at Bowen college Lekki. And again, never blame North Korea for placing a strong restriction on South Korean cultures cos our embrace of western values brought this catastrophe upon us. Shalom my brethren.
just... Just shut the fcck up! Y'all are making me very angry with this your senseless notorious take! The children disciplined back then, what happened to them?
Are they not the thieves and broken leaders/elders with no sympathy we have today??
Use your senses for once and stop blaming the west for every misfortune bedeviling the black race!

That's the reason there is so much abuse in Nigeria. Anyone with small power will abuse everything and everyone. Oppressors were raised by the older Nigerian generations.

When SARS dey slap you, for their mind dem dey discipline you.

I remember the day my dad gave me a resounding slap.

He woke me up as he was preparing for work very early in the morning. So I wasn't happy. I stood before him, looking into his eyes with anger, as he was assigning me some duties to do after school. The next thing I heard was "ta"! On my cheek.

That was the last I looked into his eyes when he's talking.

A lady was correcting a her daughter(5-6years) and the girl was like 'sssshhhh' to her mum, meaning keep quiet.

My neighbors kids goes to school with atleast 5 pencils weekly.

That age, you need to show my dad your pencil/biro everyday. Failure to do so, you lie down on the centre table.

When i was in secondary school, moving to higher class, my dad will you give text books previously used by elder bro/sis. He will just tipex the First&Middle name, leaving the surname.

He's going to document all the textbooks given to you, so that when you're promoted to another class, you will also handover the textbooks you used for that session back to him. He will be ticking.

Also you will be given a pack of 60leaves note books + 5pens.

When you need another notebook or pen, you must show the exhausted ones.

Dayuum!

There's nothing nostalgic about abuse

Many of you can't even say "I love you" or hug your parents cos all you have in your heart is fear and reverence.

Story

Back it up with raw data

Many of my mates (me including) turned out well and we grew up under such conditions. Many are happily married today.

So, back it up with facts and jot what you read from a blog or magazine

There was never a place where I said all the children flogged turned our worse . I used the word broken which might be emotional wreck . And some do have natural ability to over come this brokenness just like you. But the bad thing is people take for granted what people like me who didn't have the natural ability to overcome this trauma . Although I underwent and still undergoing therapy.so as to be a healthy parent . If you hear my story you won't measure it with yours . Out story is different

You nailed it bro.

I remember being mercilessly flogged by my Dad when I injured my self. The injury mark is still on my leg till that, but the beating wey follow no be here.

I still carry the scar on my face where my uncle flogged me for buying the wrong item he sent me . I have spent money tired on what will remove this scar . Is a reminder of how much I hate my uncle . Thank goodness have not seen him for 14 years now and I am not looking out to finding him.

All these beatings made us responsible today and majority are against it now. I wonder what our children will become in future.

You people were simply abused as kids...
There's nothing nostalgic about abuse

Many of you can't even say "I love you" or hug your parents cos all you have in your heart is fear and reverence.

We like am like that bro. How on earth will i receive beatings at home and come to school to be bullied by someone else especially a peer. Omo I go unleash every every on that person.
