Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was a Muslim adherent until early 1998, when he converted to Christianity while in prison.
The reason why simple: To become the president.
It's inconceivable for the Muslim north to miss out of number one and two positions in the current Nigeria setting. And when the Generals settled for Obasanjo, the stumbling block was religion.
So Obasanjo, who was desperate for limelight grabbed the suggestion with his two hands.
That was when it was sealed and delivered.
This same obstacle is facing Ahmed Tinubu, who is assiduously working to be the president of Nigeria.
The Muslim north cannot play second fiddle to their Christian counterparts and Tinubu knows this.
So APC knows that a Tinubu candidature will see him choose a Christian running mate.
With this, even if PDP choose Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state and find a popular Muslim north, PDP will win.
Now if Ahmed Tinubu choose a Muslim north, the majority Christian South and North will vote PDP. While the PDP Muslim running mate will divide the Muslim votes in the North.
A critical look at Ahmed Tinubu will expose glaring flaws, considering his religion.

I swear no political party will sail through with a presidential candidate from Ibo extraction! Same way a Muslim southerner with a Christian northerner as running mate will be an easy defeat! This is a bitter truth
Only if you understand politics 101

It's obvious you don't understand the intricacies of Nigeria politics.
The beautiful bride now is South East because the sentiment is gaining momentum and permeating people's conscience.

Obasanjo has always been a Christian.

Tinubu's wife is a pastor.

Abiola and Kingebe flagged SDP ticket and won as Muslim-Muslim ticket.

NOTHING IS NEW in this speculative journalism here

No serious political party will even look the side of South East for once...

How many vote are they going to deliver?

Politics is about number

Bayelsa has 8 LGA. And SS was in minority, Why was chosen as VP and later president?
OBJ was minority in PDP, why was he chosen? It's not about game of numbers, it's about number of games. That's Nigeria politics
