All this headache would have been avoided by PDP if only they had allowed another Northerner to succeed the late Yaradua after his untimely death, instead of GEJ. A southern (most likely Igbo) PDP candidate would have been gearing up to take over from him by now. That was a missed opportunity for the party.

To be fair, someone from the South East should the PDP ticket whilst someone from the Southwest should fly the APC ticket judging from their respective contribution to each party overtime...

The defection of Umahi and some other big players to the APC is a step in the right direction to balance things up in the region with regards to their footing in the two biggest political platforms but I feel their defection is a tad late...
