I think the Private Sector in Nigeria is very indolent and insolent. Infact there is a huge vacuum created by this inactivity of the Private Sector. The only people representing the Private sector are Banks that oppress the masses and Oil companies that are owned by Cronies of Government officials.

Everyone is waiting for FG to do what private sectors of other countries do. We are waiting for FG that is Rotten from the top to convert fuel cars to electric cars or to gas cars. FG or their cronies cannot solve any of our problems. See the mess they have done to DISCOS which they gave their friends. Now they have huge gbese on their heads as we speak

When CBN and FG policies stifle start ups how can private sector thrive ? Now there is no private sector they’re the ones doing what private sector and competition should be doing. Good for them

I doubt if you have ever tried to run any kind of business left alone manufacturing in Nigeria. Because if you have, you will understand how hard it is to do anything in this country without being strangled by bottle neck and never ending multiple taxation.

You talk of other countries, if you are ready to learn, you will know that the government of those countries always give grants and soft loans to those people. And most of the loans are interest free payable withing 10 - 20 years.

In our Dear country, no better support from the government and bank loans come with unimaginable burden for a fresher.

They won't consult Automobile experts to help them with the technical expertise with respect to this project until these converted vehicles begin to explode due to technical errors in the configuration of such cars. I am an expert in this field, but the government is not seeking our professional advice rather they relied on some people from another country. We are watching.

See mumu talk. So you expect private companies to invest in something that has no clear cut policy.. they should just sink their money into it cos there's a vacuum created by the ineffective govt of the day...
The same reason why private refineries aren't Springing up left right and centre despite licenses granted is the same reason why private organizations won't tap into this..
No clear cut policies.

It will not fail because this is
not the first time autogas has
been used in Nigeria.

Many Dangote trucks and other companies' vehicles have been
running on autogas after
conversions for some years
now and this was done by
Nigerian private sector-led
professionals.

Don't blame the private sector. Nobody wants to put money in an unstable and uncertain environment. Before you venture into any venture in Nigeria, you need to conduct a thorough risk assessment and they don't come out nice.

Believe it or not, technicians training and conversation started since last year November. The gas is sold at nnpc stations on Abuja.
I was present at the training last year and 6 vehicles were converted in one week.
I hope those that don't believe in the project will come back to swallow their word at the fruition on the process.

Re: FG Will Begin Converting Petrol Vehicles To Autogas by TruthinAction: 10:32pm On Jan 31, 2022
Confused and wicked government. Why is our refineries not working? Why can't they fix it. I have suggested the need to convert petrol cars to autogas many years back but it should be driven by private sector.

I am not sure if the autogas filling station that was opened in Benin City many years back is still functioning. Transport taxis back then operating between Benin and Warri said it was far more economical than fuel at that time. Just that it can't cover long distances. So, the conversion was such that they could switch to fuel when the gas is exhausted.

I wanted commenting on this last week when this news popped up.
First we borrowed 2.5b dolls to fix ph refinery, we assisted dangote with scares forex and also bought overprices shares from dangote refinery, now fg is planning to spent billions im converting petrol poweredcars to compressed natural gas..

Like can someone wake these guys from this wasteful spending from borrowed funds...its not as if gas is cheap o, before u know it price of gas will shoot up and those that converted their cars from feul engine to cng will want to revert back to status quo. At the end those. Monies will have been wasted on futile venture.
Why God dey punish Nigeria like this?
Haven't even Heard US or European countries talking of cng cars instead na solar powered by cars...

How much is gas?
How much is fuel?
Can 1kg of gas last more than 1litre of fuel?
If this is so right, why did fg borrowed 2.5b dollars to fix that ph refinery?
Why didnt they use thatfunds to develop more gas plant?
We know conversion is going on, what benefits will it have for the economy?

So who dangote go dey sellfuel give?
