Kind of shows how bad governance causes bad things to happen

The fact is, if the well had been

1.Had a parapet OR

2.Had been sealed up, and covered

Rayan would still be with us.

A lot of people are going to blame God, Buhari, GEJ, Morroco , etc. A lot of people are going to say that Morocco is better than Nigeria..look at all the equipment

And yet, the reason why we have all that equipment there is because some local government official did not do his job, or the person who sank the well refused to put a parapet on the well. Then a lot of adults didn't put in basic safety protocol...and so forth.

Rayan died because a lot of people did not do their work. And while we hail morocco for putting in place all that was needed to rescue the boy, in essence, all that machinery and trained helpers was a sign of failure rather than success. Failure of people...government officials, inspectors, builders, adults, even parents ...to do the job they were supposed to do. Make a single well safe and childproof.

Even if the person who sank the well had put a parapet with a lock on top, Rayan would have been alive today. Yet the guy did not do the job because only God knows why. And the funny thing is, he or she won't feel guilty.

I hope they build wells with parapets and seal off all the dangerous wells in that country. And I hope that whoever is in charge gets sacked.

Pic 2: A well with a parapet...that could have saved his life.

Read! Read!! Read!!!

But you said no.

The well was under repair. Other safety measures would have worked not your "parapet."

Then that means there should have been enough warning signs/ barriers/ etc

In other words, child proofed

Still validates my point.

P.S. no proof in the report that the well was under repairs. All it says is that the rescue operation made the area resemble a construction site
,
Either way, MY point stands

Ps 2

Have checked several sites. No evidence that the well was being repaired. Even if it was, there should have been enough warning signs and markers to deter kids from playing around there.

But as it is, the well was abandoned and not in use. And not covered by a parapet
