Why do we keep on calling parties.weda PDP or APC ,they are still the same people.they keep on recycling themselves, changing party at any given time. If we Nigerians want to get it right we have to look beyond party line, religion and ethnicity and look for a credible candidate irrespective of where the person is from.

'...like a giant leech at the top of the body politic, government is essentially there to fund itself...'

The truth few Nigerians realise and are willing to accept, condemn and reform (restructure).
In other climes the people fund the government they want. Here the government commandeers all the resources of the nation plus, takes almost everything for itself by creating a false sense of responsibility (endless sponsored conflicts, endless subsidies, etc) and leaving next to nothing for the rest of its citizenry, keeping them in a vicious cycle of poverty and dependency.... slavery.

.... that Boko Haram now controls no territory in Nigeria is a false, and unfortunate misinformation from Shehu who should know better.
What use is he to the government responding to an honest criticism with blatantly false rebuttal?

Thank God piling is not from Nigeria.
If not, na #freePiling we for start online.

They would have sent DSS to his house at 2:00am, accuse him of instigating violence and circulating falsehood and probably, he will appear in court after 4years.
It's not only the government, we Nigerian are good at attacking the messenger, pushing the message aside.
It's so funny how Foreigners speak more about our problems than we the citizens..
Well, I understand....Freedom after speech isn't guaranteed.
What a country !!

Being a presidential spokesperson has to be one of the most difficult jobs ever , you have to learn how to use falsehood to defend the obvious truth.
What was described about the state of the Nigerian economy by financial times is nothing but the absolute truth , the unfortunate thing is just that the Brits are also happy with the situation of things in this country, the amount of money they make from visa applications alone daily will never make them seek progress for this nation

yes the job is difficult for those who love the truth. for those who love falsehood and lies the job is just sleeping and waking up. it is natural to them. i know a wise man who resigned his job as a spokesman of a governor because his job contradicted his moral principles and compass yet many of pastor osinbajos supporters will ask u why are people saying he should have resigned

Very professional and succinct. Thank you so very much Mallam Sheu Garba.

I have stopped taking the Brits too seriously with the damning partygate scandal involving their PM, Boris Johnson, and his inner circle who were drinking on the graves of their own citizens murdered by covid-19.

I was telling someone that I can never imagine PMB drinking alcohol and partying after reading the daily deaths of his citizens in the middle of a pandemic.

The correspondent can enjoy the support of those suffering from inferiority complex and those who hate their country because their President is not from their tribe, religion and political party. Good for the Brit n the company of bigoted tribesmen !

All the enemies of Nigeria will lose las las. They always lose. God bless Nigeria forever.

The people you are trying to defend are helpless and know that they have failed woefully...

Some of them cannot wait for 2023 to come soon for them to exit the scene....forget the false sense of strength.

“The caricature of a Government sleepwalking into disaster is predictable from a correspondent who jets briefly in and out of Nigeria on the same British Airways flight he so criticises”, Garba replied in his short and sharp rejoinder.

“He highlights rising banditry in my country as proof of such slumber.

“What he leaves out are the security gains made over two Presidential terms.

“The terror organisation Boko Haram used to administer an area the size of Belgium at inauguration; now, they control no territory.

“The first comprehensive plan to deal with decades-old clashes between nomadic herders and sedentary farmers – experienced across the width of the Sahel – has been introduced: pilot ranches are reducing the competition for water and land that drove past tensions.

“Banditry grew out of such clashes. Criminal gangs took advantage of the instability, flush with guns that flooded the region following the Western-triggered implosion of Libya.

We all know this guy, Garbage Shehu, is delusional but what surprised most reasonable people is the extent of his delusion and sheer stupidity. How can a man who pretty much presides over a failed state that is ranked as the MOST corrupt country and the poverty capital of the world summon up the courage to speak in defense of such failure? Does he have any shame or is he that shameless that he wears abject failure and ineptitude as a badge of honor? This is what has always been the bane of LIEGERIA, that those who aspire to control the affairs of millions of people are nitwits that can't even discern between success and failure. Both are one and the same in their warped minds, hence they see no reason to steer the ship in the right direction. I am NOT certain about Garbage Shehu's intelligence but judging by his past and present pronouncements, it would NOT be a stretch to liken his intelligence to that of an ostrich or a kakapo bird.
