this doesn't negate the fact that some children deserve better flogging to reset their head. Once a child isn't scared of her parents. if she does something wrong, especially girl child. Then such a child is likely to go astray

I agree with you that parenting is a very difficult job..But I think it was not about being soft hearted or hardened... It's about wisdom and understanding...

There are lots of parents that beats their children, yet nothing... When they have succeeded in putting fears in those kids, just few mins of freedom, u won't know those kids.. because they will do the unimaginable..

Beating does not solve much believe me... It ends up damaging the kids... They will grow up becoming wife beaters, children beaters... When they get to a platform, they claimed that they were raised that way and turned out to be alright without knowing that they were really damaged inside...

Better study the psychology of children beating does not work on every child sometimes what they see you do is enough to correct them, for others communication helps it depends on the kind of communication languages some children have some are auditory others are not.

The parenting of those days were no better because the kids still turned out bad and hid things from their parents that wasn't discipline but fear.Parenting is with love you are raising humans not animals that you must always abuse in the name of beating without correction.If the parents of old were so good we won't be so corrupt, hateful and bitter and lack basic human emotion/love or call it decency.
It was the older generation that thought us every known corruption and vices we have today despite all the beating, no ground breaking innovation or progress attributed to the Nigerian society.

You don't know the meaning of "woke" study it and don't make it look like a bad or terrible thing, you Nigerians should stop buying into racist conservative narrative that was designed to attack the true purpose of what "woke" means which is to be alert and aware of racial/social injustices in our society there is nothing wrong in being woke.

A child is like a book, whatever you write is what stays. You can't raise a child in a dysfunctional family and society and expect him or her to turn out right.
