I agree and obviously Ukraine is trying to deescalate fighting a war on their own soil with Russia. There is an initial dilemma.

Multilateral sanctions will make Russia back down sooner or later.

That was what I suggested last month when Biden was threatening Putin with sanctions.

A unilateral sanction would not hurt Putin one bit.

I get you, but American base near Russia is already inevitable.

Countries like Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia are already NATO members and they border Russia, so technically the US can have a base there.

Also, Poland borders Ukraine and US have thousands of soldiers and military hardware there, if Ukraine falls to Russia, then Poland will automatically be bordering Russia.

That's why I say it's inevitable.
