Yuneehk:

My father says I shouldn't complain and be selective with yam because my father doesn't plant yams. Like it's a crime to hate new yam. I don't even bother.

I'll just enjoy them old yams, and when they're finished, we go on yam holiday.

I should try out this parsley. Never used it before.
Lovely meal by the way kiss
Have you tried onitsha yam?
As new yam, it's very sweet but the most expensive.

Bitter yam is good healthwise. In my town, we have one we call ji anùnu. You can't use it to do poundo cos it's not starchy. Diabetics can eat that comfortably. I actually love it.
But my best is water yam. The taste is amazing. I love òna too.

I'm sure people don't know we have like more than 30 types of yam in nigeria

Lol, oil makes stews and sauces look good and taste good. If you are anti-oil, just go chew cabbage. Funny thing is, after first eating, especially when consumed by many people, you start looking for oil in the stew/soup. It is never that much after all. cheesy

Here we eat Ghanaian yam called puna yam. Its like ogbarù( called onitsha yam). I have a customer that always get the real one for me. I cut and freeze. The same with plantain.

The day I was given that bitter one, I turned that to poundo cheesy and gave the woman serious warning cheesy

I have heard of the Onitsha yam. Too many species of yam, I can’t keep up. I don’t even bother looking for it, before they give me something else.

Thanks for the benign response.

Do you have a food channel? If not, maybe you should. It'll be good to cash out while doing something you're passionate about.

Yam specialist oh...
I've not tried Onitsha yam.
There is a list of yam looking foods that I don't eat. Me sef! I don't like water yam, it's the reason I don't eat ikokore made by the Yorubas. But I hear it's great. I don't like onu (that's how it's called in my place angry I don't like cocoyam/Ede as well.

All I know is I only eat old yam. Any other thing that looks like yam, nne, anaghim eri.

Wow you don't like boiled plantain? shocked
I like unripe boiled plantain especially when it's soft. I really don't like ripe boiled plantain, it's an apology to me.
I'm not such a huge fan of fried plantain too. Frying it wears me out. I only eat it when I want to satisfy a craving.

But seriously, nobody would do free work for social media page handler eh. cheesy

Pocohontas, I just made yam and fish sauce for the first time after seeing your recipe. My camera and lighting didn't do Justice but it looked great and tasted nice, thanks for the recipe.

I used iced mackerel and also grated garlic and ginger as well

I love your username to start with.

It looks good enough for a home shot, lol. Glad to know you liked it. Keep up with the garlic. Add it to your stew, you would like it too cheesy.
