I wonder why nobody talks about Obiano's mighty achievements in lighting up almost every road in Anambra state! He installed functional street lights in both the roads he built and the old roads built by all previous governments. His light-up Anambra project was really a novel success that every community in the state has at least one or two major roads leading there with functional street lights!

I understand that you are working for your money, let's wait till Efcc is done with him, maybe only then will can cheer or boo him. Have you ever Wondered why Obi is still admired every where he goes till date, our people says Ezi afa ka ego. Thanks
I did not hear from you anymore.
Hope EFCC are done with their worse? So what has been achieved at the end of the whole drama? Has Gov. Willie Obiano been jailed? They could not come up with even a single evidence to proof all their accusations against Obiano.

EFCC subconsciously show the world how clean and transperient Obiano piloted Anambra State government.
Hope you are aware they have also release his passport after being cleared by the anti graft agency, after investigation?

Nobody becomes great by pulling his brother down or shining with his career. Those that did it never achieve good end.

Good to See Peter Obi host Flavor, Phyno,... At Agulu lake resort built by Governor Willie Obiano.
Remember Obi's daughter traditional marriage was held in the same location few months ago. Willie Obiano legacy projects are really serving the purpose which they were built, and are of great economic value to the state.
Even those who claimed Obiano did nothing are enjoying the benefit of Obiano's government.

The primary goal is to make Anambra great.

Obiano established Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA) which provides insurance to cover health expenditure of the recipient, his or her spouse and 4 children. Even major operations are either covered fully or subsidized. This is the best functioning health insurance program in East,West & Central Africa. (National Health Insurance in Abuja is hardly ever accessible. The hospital will delay attending to you until you are forced to buy the ordinary card). Other countries like Ghana came to understudy the Anambra Health Insurance program because it works excellently at just N1000 per month. Under his watch, Anambra State also got their basic health fund. People are no longer dying because they cannot afford hospital bills.

2) Establishment of Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency. They have won awards from the WHO & World Bank.

3) Establishment of Anambra State Oxygen Plant. The 2nd largest in Nigeria.

4) Established Anambra State Public Health Emergency Operating Center.

Go and check the health statistics of Anambra before his tenure and compare with the figures after wards).

Anambra’s journey to officially becoming an oil-producing state began in 2013 when Orient Petroleum Company, a private firm enterred into partnership with the state government, and started producing oil in the Aguleri basin. But it is the Obiano administration which gave it impetus by designating Oil and Gas as his fourth Pillar of economic development.

Flowing from the governor's vision to make Anambra State the first choice investment destination and a hub for economic and commercial activities and the mission to create a socially stable business friendly environment where indigenes and non indigenes alike can engage in wealth creating opportunities. The state's passage of the Oil and Gas Development Agency bill and the setting up of Oil and Gas Advisory Board facilitated policy formulation for the sector and steadfast pursuit/ resolution of boundary issues, sustained negotiations with oil prospecting firms and relevant agencies of government as well as security of personnel.

In practical terms, Governor Obiano committed resources to stop the practice of accessing some oil prospecting facilities and wells in Anambra through neighboring states with the construction of the 280 metres Aguleri Otu bridge across Omambala river and the Umueje bridge. At Ogbaru Local Government Area years of illegal operations by Sterling Oil

Exploration and Energy Producing Company of India in Ogwuaniocha and Ogwuikpele were checkmated while at the Anambra East Local Government Area end, claims by Kogi State over some of oil wells are now subject to a fifty-fifty sharing formula, pending final resolution of the boundary claims.

Anambra's journey to oil bearing status is by no means easy, but the tough battle was surmounted thanks to Governor Obiano's wealth of experience in the sector, his doggedness, and deployment of competent hands on the task, the State is now officially an Oil Producing State. Consequently, in the books of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, the state is entitled to 13% of the sale of petroleum resources from 11 oil wells in its territory, namely, Nzam-1, Alo-1, Ameshi-1, 2, and 3, and Enyie-1, 2 , 3 and 4.

There is no gainsaying the positive impact of the new status on the revenue profile of the state as well as the anticipated boost on infrastructural development programme of the government in the years ahead.

Interestingly, the Pillar One: Economic Transformation agenda articulated in The People's Manifesto by the Governor-elect of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo keys-in perfectly into the next phase of consolidation on the achievements of the four pillars of economic development of the Obiano administration. According to the Governor-elect:

"We aim to transform Anambra State from a dorminantly informal commercial state to a Formal, Productive and Competitive Economy underpinned by rapid industrialization, Agriculture, Commerce, Entertainment/Leisure, and The Creative Economy, and Technology and Innovation, Solid Minerals and Oil and Gas."

All told, the building blocks of development for a safe and secure Anambra State laid under Obiano's blueprint for economic development
where everyone has opportunity to create wealth

Anambra State is among the 12 states that foreign investments in the country in 2021. It topped all the states in the South-South and South East with a total investment of $4.7 Million in 2021 alone.

Foreign investors ignored 24 states as the value of capital importation into Nigeria fell by 30.78 percent to $6.7 billion in 2021 from $9.68 billion in 2020.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) disclosed this in its latest Nigerian Capital Importation report for the four quarters of 2021.

The report looked into the value of fresh investments that flowed into the Nigerian economy in 2021.

The 24 states which failed to attract foreign investments include Adamawa, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Ebonyi, Edo, Enugu, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, Ondo, Plateau, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara.

Of the 24 states, ten also failed to attract foreign investments in the last three years.

These states are Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Gombe, Jigawa, Kebbi, Kogi, Plateau, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara.

States that attracted foreign investments in 2021 include Lagos ($5.8 billion), Abuja ($833.4 million) Osun ($29.9 million), Anambra ($4.7 million), Kano ($2.55 million), Oyo ($2.0 million) and Ogun ($1.06 million).

Akwa Ibom follows with $0.74 million, Ekiti ($0.50 million), Kwara ($0.23) million and Abia ($0.01 million), while Rivers and Delta had a $1.0 million investment each in 2021.

Out of 51 countries that invested in Nigeria, the United Kingdom emerged as the top source of capital investment in 2021 with $2.19 billion.

South Africa followed by $1.05 billion in 2021; Mauritius ($690.91 million); and the United States ($677.54 million).

And they told you Obiano failed just to score some cheap political credit.

Peter Obi was Governor during the time of Obasanjo, Yar'Adua, and Goodluck respectively amidst high GDP, oil and economic boom.
While Willie Obiano was Governor under Buhari led Federal government amidst poor GDP, Oil, and Economic meltdown yet he was able to increase Anambra GDP from N3 trillion to 4.2 trillion in a space of 5years (from 2014-2019), and as at 2020 Anambra had a GDP of $12 billion and per capita income of $1750. Obiano kept Anambra State at top of the chart in fiscal performance (even more than Obi's administration); attracted highest foreign/local investments in the entire Southeast and southsouth region. Delivered series of capital projects which are today yielding immediate returns to the state.

Five years after being sworn in (on 17 March 2014) as the new Anambra State governor after the expiration of the Peter Obi second term Willie Maduaburochukwu Obiano had managed to reduce the poverty rate in the state to the lowest in all of the South East and 8th lowest among the 36 States of the Federation.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) poverty data for 2019 show that the lowest poverty rates were recorded mainly in the South and South-Western states, with Anambra clearly being an outlier.

While Anambra had a poverty rate of 14.8% according to the NBS data, the closest state in the South East was Imo which had a poverty rate of 28.9% and came in at No 15 on the list.

Anambra also outperformed major Nigerian oil producing states including Rivers (which recorded a poverty rate of 23.9%), Akwa Ibom (26.8%) and Bayelsa (22.6%).

The major reason for the low poverty rate is the ex-Governor’s major investments in the state’s physical and human infrastructure.

Interestingly, he cleared all arrears of salaries owed local-government employees, the outstanding salaries and pensioned owed the staff of Anambra State Water Corporation, and pensions and gratuity of owed retirees of Anambra Broadcasting Service and National Light’ Newspaper, which had been in default for twenty-five long years.

While some federally-bailed-out-state were struggling to pay workers’ salaries, former governor Obiano raised civil servant salaries by 15 percent and remained tenaciously steadfast that worker’s welfare was his topmost priority.

During his tenure as governor, he cleared N1.90 billion arrears of salaries owed the State Water Corporation staff as well as the approximately N1 billion pension owed Local Government retirees inherited by his administration.
