Nigerian police should stop buying all these useless pick up cars. These cars are for builders...not police. We should buy decent saloon cars not all these agbero pickups.

Security can only improve if it is localized, wether states can pay or not depends on the security risk of each state, there are states that needs more policing than others, hence only the states can really put in the work.

Whatever the case may be, states for long have vigilante groups they pay 5k monthly which I'm very much sure will be replicated on state police. No state will pay graduate more than 50k if state police is granted contrary to more than 120k they currently receive despite most of them deployed to either their state of origin or near by states.

For where you take hear say Police dey collect 120k as entry salary Police Entry salary is 37k, so if there are states willing to pay N50k so far as they’re not being controlled from Abuja, security will improve drastically nationwide, which in itself will create more Job opportunities as states will want to employ more people for Police Jobs.

State government will also have the right to issue licensing for private security companies which people and businesses can subscribe to for extra security at a fee, just like it is done in most developed countries.

Decentralize the Police and allow states and their stakeholders Police themselves how they want based on each states security risk and assessment.

The over centralised nature of the Nigerian polity is preferred by some, but is the major factor crippling national socio-economic progress and integration! Some prefer it because it enables them to be able to control other peoples human and natural resources as well as use the instruments of state coercion to bully and intimidate others!

New entry for graduate from Police college is more than 100k...in the past 2 recruitments after pressure of state police mount, constabulary is introduced which comprises all sort of people including hunters and people with no certificates that is why they're paid 30k while those who joined NPF with SSCE are paid around N49k after tax and pension deductions.
