He failed to satisfy two main ingredient the court must consider in granting bail.

He is a flight risk and also has the capacity to interfere with the investigation and prosecution of the case.

He can only ask for speedy trial at this time since by provision of Section 306 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, an interim appeal is useless. To wit; he won’t enjoy stay of proceedings pending appeal.

This is one reason I have issues with Section 306 of the ACJA and I firmly believe it ultra vires the expression Provision of Sections 6(6) and 36 of the Constitution.
