Nigeria with 36states cant still be properly managed and maintained and u want to add another one.. The problem of this country is not the creation of states but that we don't value ourselves, ethnicity, religion, corruption are the problem we show try to face. U want to create a state that would join the other ones that can strive on their own if fed allocations do not come... If Lagos, rivers and Anambra should say they want to stand alone it for the others to keep clinging to the feet of the federal government for daily bread. When there is no development in ur state there can never be personal enjoy.

Always respond to the issue of discussion. We are not talking about capacity of Nigeria to maintain its region. The subject of the matter here is equity and fairness within Nigeria context, any argument outside this subject is diversionary.

You can create topic on non viability of creation of state and we would air our views

This is very informative.
Thanks for the detailed explanation.

For the purpose of audience..

State Creation and constituencies are done based on the population on ground and not by land mass.. This is why Lagos State despite being the smallest state in Nigeria by land mass has one of the highest reps member at the green chamber... While that of Niger and Taraba state depite having the second highest land mass in Nigeria has the least members in the aformentioned place..

The same thing is applicable to state creation..
Its done by the population not the land mass... Anambra state today is more populated than Niger State but Niger State is four times bigger than Anambra State...

See how hate has destroyed the psyche of ignorant clowns above me, displaying their lack of exposure and understanding of Politics..

Every clown wants to have a say on nairaland politics section

It's a Pity...

No offence intended, but this has to be the stupidest comment yet, on this thread!

Create two capital cities in one Nigeria? Is it that some of you basically have zero knowledge of societal economics cum political implications of some of the prescriptions you lay down on the wellbeing of the general populace? With just one capital city, we're still battling the detrimental effects of an ambiguous political system and one ignoramus is suggesting the addition of another.

I'm a South Southerner, but for God's sake, where is the land space where the sixth Eastern state is to be cut from? Abi una wan annex lands from other regions join with the East just to placate your delusions for an extra state? Instead of you folks to be ullulating the call for restructuring, una dey yan dust about extra state.

I may never come around to understanding how some Nigerians reason. Ekweramadu should be ashamed of himself for following this thought process.

You are the one that actually have no knowledge of how defective Nigeria can be structure in such a way that it would prevent these avoidable loss of lives and resources we daily expended rather than correct basic fundamental flaws and quell the senseless agitations and the strife.

Tell me what is the reason why the Southerner has never become a Minister of FCT since moved to Abuja?

Despite having 2 Southerners as president of the country, the north still uses FCT as a strong bargain point and you just think it is so easy for a Southern President to appoint a Southerner as FCT minister

This is a list of ministers of the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria.

All these dots in the circle people will not look for somewhere to lay their head, they go about seeking for extra state with very greedy and wicked governors siphoning federal funds and denying their people infrastuctural development. I dont like their approach to Nigerian politics.

They are very weak politically and they can never be president of Nigeria again. Instead of the stupid Ekeremadu to loby for Igbo presidency althrough his time as senator, he is busy clamouring for more state.
