You are quite naive sha. Are you aware that ever since the government of Buhari was sworn in, there has been a deliberate effort to destroy the economy of the south east with bad policies. For example, the border has been closed since 2019, why? Why is it that the igbos must use the lagos port, even if it makes economic sense to open up the onne port or warri port to onitsha and other eastern importers. Why is the east excluded from the standard gauge railway linking various parts of the country, even when Niger republic benefits from this project? There is a deliberate effort to destroy the igbos. 13% derivation: RMAFC Add Anambra to Oil producing states, shuts out Lagos,

The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has refused to list Lagos State among beneficiaries of the 13 per cent oil derivation fund, some six years after the state became oil-producing state.
A source at the RMAFC said Lagos State has not been added to the list of states benefiting from the 13 per cent derivation “due to some irreconcilable differences” with the state.
Two states- Anambra and Kogi, which are now oil-producing states, benefit from the 13 per cent derivation fund. They joined Delta, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Rivers, Edo, Ondo, Imo and Abia.
Lagos State became an oil-producing state when crude oil was found in commercial quantities in 2016. Yinka Folawiyo Petroleum Company Limited, an indigenous firm and operator of OML 113 offshore Lagos in 2016 announced the commencement of production of crude oil from the field. Other partners are New Age Exploration Nigeria Limited, EER (Colobus) Nigeria Limited, Pan Petroleum (Panoro Energy) Aje Limited and PR Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited.
But Lagos State cannot join states receiving 13 per cent derivation without clearance from RMAFC.
A source at RMAFC said the state has not started benefiting from 13 per cent derivation fund because the government was playing a “hide and seek game”.
RMAFC is disputing information provided by the government in respect of the state’s position on oil production as an oil producing state.
Responsive Vertical
“They are making profit as oil-producing state but don’t want to come clean. Their case is being investigated by the oil and gas committee of the commission, and we are waiting for the outcome of the committee’s investigation,” the source said.
Besides the statutory monthly allocation that goes to each state as share of revenue allocation from the federation account, oil producing states get an extra 13 per cent derivation fund. The extra fund enshrined in the constitution is meant to take care of effects of degradation suffered by oil-producing communities.
Figures from StatiSense showed that in 2021, the 13 per cent derivation proceeds was shared as follows: Delta State, N141.9 billion; Akwa Ibom State, N91.2 billion; Bayelsa State N87.2 billion; Rivers State N83.1 billion; Edo State N17.1 billion; Ondo State N11.5 billion; Imo State N9.98 billion and Abia State N4.78 billion.
An RMAFC source told The Nation that the “legal unit of RMAFC has confirmed that Kogi and Anambra states are now receive 13 per cent oil derivation”.
Obiano had earlier written to RMAFC to request the state’s “due share of revenue accruing to the nation from oil and gas production activities in Anambra State”.
RMAFC, in granting the approval highlighted that Anambra and Kogi states would start benefiting from the 13 per cent derivation fund “once the proceeds from the oil wells are contributing to the Federation Account”.
The approval letter addressed to Obiano and signed by the RMAFC’ Secretary Mr M.B. Shehu, conveyed the Commission’s “attribution of 11 oil wells wholly to Anambra state”.
The commission also “approved the attribution of Anambra River One, Two, and Three oil wells, to be shared equally (50-50 per cent basis) between Anambra and Kogi states, pending the final delineation of boundaries of the two states”.
The 11 oil wells wholly attributed to Anambra State included Ameshi One, Two, Three and Four oil wells, and Enyie One, Two, Three, and Four oil wells. Others are Nzam-One oil well, Alo- One oil well, and Ogbu- One oil well.
However, RMAFC added a caveat, saying “for the states to benefit from the 13 per cent derivation fund, the proceeds from the operations of the oil wells should be contributed to the Federation Account”.

The federal govt will still frustrate that effort to rebuilt the east on their own cos it will make them look bad... Assuming they want to dredge River Niger on their own with the aim of generating funds,do u really think the govt will grant them the license to carry that out? This is likely not going to work because it has never worked in the past. Some of them will definitely yield to government's calls but many stubborn among them will become defiant and create another faction of ipob. One faction will acuse another faction that it has compromised course of biafra which may increase seeing themselves as saboteurs or put another group to establish another faction.
My advice to Soludo is that, try to have plan A and plan B. Plan A- Announce deadline period at which all Ipob/ESN factions should surrender themselves and weapons so they can be forgiven and integrated back to society, then setup reorientation program to de-ipoblized them from emotional biafran matters and drug. No matter how soludo try, all of them will not surrender because they will see themselves loyal to Kanu's Biafra course until he is freed.
PLAN B must be activated on these remaining ones from their hiding places and use information collected from those that yield to government to get rid of those ones because federal government will never release kanu until judiciary sentence him. Setting up committee upon committee on behalf of kanu is a waste of resources. Any security solution soludo wants to setup must not revolve round kanu because kanu has entered one chance already with lots of evidences against him. Do you know that this unknown gunmen issue we have in Imo state wouldn't have gotten to this stage if not for the high-handedness of the Imo State government? ESN was in the forests going after herdsmen who were killing people and destroying farmland. Buhari, with the consent of Uzodimma, chose to bring his brutish military into the state and they started killing innocent men, burning houses, sacking villages. You people won't see these ones, y'all suffer from selective amnesia when it comes to things concerning Igbo land. What is the cure for the EAST?
Let all agitators gather and angrily build the EAST like Johannesburg or Dubai... Many Igbo people have money.
Imagine if Nnamdi Kanu and all IPOB members get angry and begin to build the East by force... Imagine if they make the East look like Johannesburg or Dubai.. Imagine if they protect the East and start running a very "dangerous" development programme. I tell you, even those in Europe may return back to the East to live. Just begin massive estate development all around, massive road construction, massive arrangement of the East.. Do it even without the government, and you will be the most valued people in Igbo land, and history will never forget you.
One of the things that made God concerned on Earth was when man was building the tower of Babel......If the East is like Johannesburg or Dubai, the "intimidation" will be more than GUNS.
Let there be peace agreement, let reconciliation be done, and let Nnamdi Kanu be released.
This is wisest opinion I have read on this biafra agitation for a long while now. I thought Mazi Nnamdi Kanu would have tow this line but he didn't. Healing and reconciliation, fairness and equity is all we need to be a nation. |

Thank God Soludo is not trying to tow the path of Uzodinma, the IPOB issue is not his fight, he should not get entangled in it, Buhari is the cause of the violence in the south east, do your work for the people of Anambra and nobody not even IPOB will see you as an enemy, Nobody will tell Simon Ekpa to stop when people begin to see your good works...

If not that am igbo with u ipob urchins I would have said foolishness is inherent in dis our tribe because lots of u justify such stereotype with ur foolishness. Buhari is the cause of violence in the South East.. If they ask on another hand u will say ipob was not created for political destabilization of the Buhari government.
