yes and no

in ME2, if you ignore sidequests, esp loyalty you lose squadmates in the final battle

not so much a problem in MEA, however you need to complete the loyalty and ark quests - or you will lose one character at the end.

you also need to do the quest with the dealer on kadara [this unlocks an easy means of making money as the seller gives you hefty discounts]

I was at level 55 when i took on the archon, with my weapons and armor at VII

i had gotten the extra consumbales and gray market connections cryo points

the gray market connections gave me the cobra rpg - which is a fantastic weapon for killing large health bosses. by the end of the game i had bought up to 40 of them. you can take out destroyers, fiends elrochs and behemoths with these in one shot. also cardinals - once you ave taken down their orbs.
