1. Are children of these days worse than the older generation?

I see a lot of myopic comments claiming the world has spoil finish. This is not true. Underage children has been engaging in stupid things from the days of Adam and Eve. Children that grew up in an environment where they learned about sex early always end up having sex early. When I was still in Primary school in the 1990s, I knew some of my classmates who where already sexually active and I attended one of the best schools in Jos.

The problem is the internet only makes it easier for children these days to get access to porn and things that corrupt them. Children will always do stupid things it is not a new thing or a big deal sef. They are children and need guidance.

Many of us judging these kids 2ould have used our phones to watch porn if we had smart phones back in our days too. Children are curious and porn would interest them.

2. Private Schools with wahala.
This Is another short sighted thought people are propagating. They think private schools are terrible in management.
They are talking of Dowen collage cultism and now chrisland issue. They say private schools are over rated. Well, they are wrong. If any child trusts you and tells you what happens in their schools, You will fear god.

Secondary school girls are doing runs in public schools and all their classmates know
The boys are doing yahoo.
They have cults too. Infact cultism from secondary school is very very old especially public schools.

3. Only girls are victims
people have been one sided judging matters always against the males. If not for the video leak, many Nigerians were already out calling for the heads of the boys. Women know they can always get public sympathy and they are abusing it. They are using it unduly to revenge and hurt people they dont like. They cry rape when they need to deal with a man. Is it not a possibility that it was the girl that initiated the truth or dare game? Do we even know if it was the girl that initiated sex with those boys? We dont have these answers yet people jumped into conclusion and many even insisted that the girl must have been drugged by the boys because they believe only boys can be bad. Girls are always good

4. Where did we go wrong?
Humans have always been bad, humans would always make bad life decisions. Children particularly would do things that are wrong because that is how children are. Exposure to social media is not helping them, giving them mobile phones is not helping, movies, music are all confusing them.

The worst influence on these girls are Ladies. You ladies always twerking online, always taking suggestive videos. The only thing you do on tick tok is dance and twerk. You sexualize every picture you take even pictures you take in church. The younger girls begin to develop the wrong mindset that sex is the most important thing most of you girls cannot take a picture without emphasizing your butt or boobs.
. The reason why I focused on women towards the end is because there is this assumption that it is men that sexually expose children. The moment a child is discovered to be sexually adventurous, the public begins to ask that all the men in the family including the dad of the child be suspected. This has been the way it has been for ages, men Are always the evil ones in the eyes of the society. That is why the mum of the chrisland girl came out to play the same old rape card instead of addressing the moral delinquency issue of the children involved
You are on point. You said it all

justifying her actions here is the only thing that have gone wrong.during our era,it was an abomination which everyone would frown at.

The way I see it, the problem of the society starts from the home, bringing up a child is no easy feat, but that is the task a parent or parents signs up for when they decide to have children. Parents these days, tend to confuse loving a child for spoiling a child, providing kids at an early age with media and internet enabled devices is totally wrong, especially without supervision, even adults are tempted, how much more of an innocent kid. Today, our kids are exposed to both local and foreign media which plays a huge part in programming our children and parents are too busy working or hustling for money that they neglect their number one task. Hustle but when you get back try and know what your kids are up to, check their devices, do this unexpectedly, assume the role of a confidante, invest time in your kids because they are a big part of the society tomorrow. There are suggestions everywhere ranging from peer pressure to media programming, therefore install an antivirus that would help their conscience overcome temptation, children both male and female are exposed when they are ill equipped from home.
Case in mind, the parents failed in this sacred task, not trying to be judgmental here but that girl was a ticking time bomb, unfortunately it detonated this early, there are trails left on her internet space, which gives you an idea of what and who she is and could become, her parents were totally blind towards this and now we are here. Parents need to realize that they owe it to God and man to bring up a child in a proper way, please help us.

It's parents fault...many parents have run away from their parental responsibilities of training, discipling their children and training and bring them up in the way of the Lord. .many parents pamper their children...the Bible says you spare the rod you spoil the child...many parents buy andriod phones for their teenage children and allow them to watch adult movies, love romantic adult movies, worldly music in cable TV and through this they get spolit

Your points are so apt.....I attended igbobi college in the 90s, that's a boys school.
We are practically excited to see girls walk by the school compound ( don't ask me what we talk about).
How many remember the lit &debating society.. during this programme we are more about the party, dancing, mingling and after party....there are assault and rape cases .
Boys steals parents jewelry and dollars just to be among( there is a boutique in ojuelegba back then it's called Homeboys, if you have never visited that shop you are not seen as a big boy )
The summary of everything is that the social media exposed things than this days more than back in the days ...
I so submit..

You are absolutely right. But I agree with you more where you said ladies are the problem. Everything they do,they epitomize sexuality. This factor really confuses small girls. It makes them think there's nothing to a woman than sex and sexuality. If you want to validate this,go and check how a girl of 13 will pose if you want to snap her.
Second,I agree with you most where you said the small girl's mother wanted to play on public sympathy by claiming gang rape when it was actually her daughter who adopted cow-boy position. A girl in such sex position could never have been in a rape position. Women have been manipulating the society for centuries. To cap it all,it was alleged that some of the videos her daughter posted on LIKEE APP were shot at home. Where was her mother all this while? Na operation crocodile tears she dey abeg. Spoilt mother, spoilt child

Lol, you just reminded me of my childhood experience.

One day, I was going through my elder brother's closet hoping to find some change then I stumbled upon a VCD. Out of curiosity, I decided to play it, and it was porn. I watched for some time and rushed back to return it. Occasionally, I will go and steal, watch and return.

I played it one faithful day, and immediately, Nepa took light. I was restless and scared. I attempted to open the VCD player. If anyone find it there, I'm finished. Throughout the night, I couldn't sleep. The following day, Nepa brought light, as my mom was about to play VCD, I run with run with the speed of light to eject it. Lol, Even she, noticed my apprehension. She was asking me what CD was that, I lied that it's a music video. I distracted her and carefully returned it.

And secondly in most civilized countries sex contain age is 15yrs but in nigeria our religion we thought we brought to the world but not knowing it was brought to us said sexually knowledge at 18yrs .
Whereas 8yrs children are having sex at ur backyard now porn is on the internet and everyone despite age has a Android phone.

The worse thing that happened to me when watching vcd porn then was when NEPA take light in the Night. Mhen I stayed awake through out the night to ensure NEPA bring light to eject it out even till morning I didn't go to my place of engagement back then.
I knew if I didn't eject it out and when they bring light my mum or dad or elder wanted to play film and first play the vcd porn I knew I would be in trouble
I would just pack my load and leave because the the torment I would have received I will would have have felt it now or still be feeling it now
There was a time I was watching mojo on VHS and NEPA took the light in the middle of the night and I was to go to school the following morning. I had to get a screw driver, loose the damn thing to bring out the cassette in the middle of the night while praying not to be caught. Can't forget that night in a hurry.

You made very valid points bro. Going through the net showed me that this girl was groomed out from social media. She had access to mobile phone without parental guidance et al.

Well I already warned my brothers that the society will not listen to their explanations when a minor comes raging with accusations of rape. Therefore, don’t you ever send them on errands like doing the dishes or buying anything for you or even smiling at you. The moment I notice it, you’re gone.

This warning has been since 2014, when a girl in the neighborhood tried to stab another girl for entering the house of one of the neighbors. Na long story guys.

The internet didn’t do well so did her parents, but the society is to blame.

Nothing is new; no be for this generation e start. A lot of us know what we or our classmates did in primary schools and secondary schools. Kids have always been bad, internet exposes the rot more.

During our time, we knew far more than we ought to have known, but the fear of repercussions was what tamed us. Many students then had access to playboy magazines, there were some that would bring their dad, brother or uncle's phones loaded with blue films, as they were popularly called then. We started handling girls breasts back in Primary schools. Many parents didn't get to hear or know this because there were lots of hush hush and fear of greater repercussions.

Though the society we live in today, it's even more difficult to control what a child listen to or sees. There's sex littered everywhere; as a parent, you just have to keep educating them early about sex, their bodies and repercussions and greatly control their access to the media and the internet. May God help us all. The world has gone crazy indeed.

I'll address only the private schools issue in your write-up, and where I think you got it wrong.

First, don't compare privately run schools to public ones. Because people expect more accountability from private schools, especially one where parents cough out a lot of money as fees. And that is where I think Chrisland got it wrong.

Excursions by private schools are usually well planned and well thought out. I read their explanation for why the kids were not being supervised at that point and I think it was watery.

I have been in charge of several excursions by students before now and I know the planning and the ratio of students to staff that's the standard.

Chrisland failed in their job to properly care for the students in their care.

There's no need running a comparison with public schools.

True they may have failed in their job in properly monitoring the kids. But what the kids decided to do at that stolen time was based on what they have been exposed to, not necessarily by the school.

Why couldn't they be gisting, playing "safe" games or doing what children their age should be doing. But having sex and in that manner, is not on the school. The school cannot take the blame for that.

The teachers were to check to make sure that the kids were in bed and then go to sleep. I don't think they were meant to sleep in their rooms with them.

71 out of 76 kids were in their rooms and observing "lights out". But 5 decided to sneak out to go and constitute nuisance.

There are always bad eggs in schools who would jump fence, sneak out and do everything to be wayward while normal people are asleep. In those cases, how can you blame the school?
