Comr. Emeka Ukaegbu (MBBS) has cautioned the Buhari led federal Government to take active steps towards ending the over 72 days strike embarked upon by Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU).

Briefing newsmen and student union leaders on Wednesday 27th April, in Ekiti state during his nationwide tour, Mr Emeka Mandela as fondly called by his numerous supporters berated the federal Government for falling deaf ears to the angst of the teachers of our higher institutions. A look at the welfare package of the average Nigerian professor is meagre when compared with what their counterparts in saner climes earn.

“It is regrettable that the high cost of governance has been prioritized as government appointees take home huge benefits to the detriments of mentors who should direct its future leaders” he stated.

It would be recalled that the academic staff union of universities have been on strike over the inability of the Buhari led federal Government of Nigeria to implement the already existing welfare package of academic staff.

The young pragmatic and outspoken youth leader urged the youths and Nigerians to explore every avenue to enthrone a youthful and purpose driven Government to address the many regrettable exhibitions of mal-administration should the Government fail to end the strike within 72 hrs from today.

According to the young medical practitioner, a youth storm and a purpose driven government is the only remedy to our nation's leadership challenges , he concluded.
