Suspension from Sacred Ministry! The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Gboko and Apostolic Administrator, sede vacante, Catholic Diocese of Katsina-Ala, Most Revd William Avenya has suspended Revd Fr Hyacinth Iormem Alia from public Ministry after series of admonitions to him. Fr Alia has purchased forms to contest the 2023 Benue State Governorship election, an action which is against the priestly vocation(Ex can. 285, 3 CIC).
