Nana Olomu of the Itsekiri photographed in Accra after he was defeated and exiled there by the British in 1885. He had signed a Treaty of Protection with the British. But, because he would not allow the British to trade independently of him, he stored up trouble for himself and eventually the British attacked and exiled him.
