Inflation in Nigeria is way beyond 21.5%; forget the padded figure churn-out by the agency. This figure will probably rise to 30 - 35% when the ripple effect of dollarized primary of various political parties begin to surface. 1 Like 1 Share |

oz4real83:The last paragraph is so apt. Most detergent of around N100 and of weight circa 190g have reduced to 160g range yet the price of that same commodity is close to N200. They reduced the size from factory then middlemen wholesalers increased the price on their own accord. Weak market regulation is part of the problem. 1 Like 1 Share |

oz4real83: increase prices by 100% and reduce the quantity by 50% for the same commodity!!!. The bolded is the worse of them all, I keep imagining.... how companies increase the price of products by 100-200% and still reduce the size, plus quality of the product? This is criminal activity. 3 Likes 1 Share |

oz4real83: We have weak institutions. Until we have a system that works well, anything goes. We sometimes have strong leaders who dictate what's to be done. We mostly don't have them. So anybody will do what pleases them and of course, the ripple effect happens. What is happening is the Diesel price. Going to #1,500 per liter. How do manufacturers even survive in this country? Most things are reducing in weight yet prices are soaring. Government failed woefully to protect producers and consumers as long as they keep receiving undeserved taxes ![]() 2 Likes 2 Shares |
