SDP - 82,211 (23%)
PDP - 67,457 (19%)
NNPP - 529 (0.020)

If this election election was conducted on Twitter, we all know the party that would win.

PDP wey carry third self dey diss.

Labor party people are laboring in vain as usual. I heard they no get up to 200 votes lol.

If Peter Obi get 2000 votes in Ekiti next year, then he will be tagged successful. But let them continue their delusion on Twitter, we shouldn’t take the only voice they have from them.

They win on Twitter while we win on election day.

The failure of Labor party in Ekiti is entirely left for the party members and delegates from there (if they have any) to answer for, Obi that just officially joined the party barely a month ago cannot wave his magic wand and make big numbers happen for LP in Ekiti when they literally have no gubernatorial candidate or party structure in Ekiti to start with, APC with all their vote buying shenanigans that we're exposed all over social media in Ekiti were always going to win Ekiti...the bigger problem however is the low turnout of voters in Ekiti state...that's a worrying preface that should bother you as it might be a clear hint of the voter apathy that might hit the SW in the general election gan gan.

Lastly I find it laughable that PDP official Twitter will be taking a dig at LP when they should be competing with APC yet shamelessly came third, what was Fayose doing all this while?

No one expected Labour party to win Ekiti gubernatorial election. PDP is no longer the main opposition party in Nigeria. Very shameful

They're trying to normalize brazen buying of votes and ruthless rigging in this queer country.

They will go out and use corrupt billions to buy off voters and when they're done rigging the election, they will turn around to tell you that there are no polling bouts online, as if their pyrich victory has anything to do with any sort of clean and equal contest.

I will Nzeogwu will wake up and serve these ruthless criminals parading around as politicians, some damisa menu..

Voter apathy is always like that in the South. Even Anambra voters in the last Soludo election are lesser than that of Ekiti. That’s why people always say the North decide every election because they vote more than the southerners. In the presidential election next year, we will try to fix it in the SW and I’m sure the gladiators are taking notes.

With regards to Peter Obi, I’m pretty sure that if they had said people should vote on Twitter, LP will be winning massively and you’ll have lot of people saying it’s Peter Obi influence but in real election, reverse is the case.

Bro, Peter Obi is still trending now online, so if an election at this time could give his party only <200 votes, then I can bet you that by February next year he won’t be trending like this and that means his party will get lesser votes.

The summary is that, online noise don’t mean jack in real election. People online supporting hun should quit being delusional when they plot their numbers. Except if they’re just doing it for clout.

Which Nigeria? Na why some of una no ever fit get sense. 80% of real voters don't know twitter or social media. Now combine that with another 80% of spiritual voters only known to politicians then you all always winning elections online will hide your face.
If you no get money hide your face (according to davido) and we know what money turns into during elections. Make Obi dey form economist abi na stingy, the real voters go carry money vote for the highest sharer.

PDP came 3rd, imagine the audacity.

Anambra for example votes for APGA during governorship.

But votes for PDP during presidential election.

Using Ekiti state gubernatorial election as a case study to determine how Labour Party will perform in all states during presidential election is being myopic.

Labour party will win in all southeast states, majority of south south, Lagos state and some northern states.

Election is a serious business. Youths should not just get their PVCs, they should also translate that to votes on election day by voting any candidate for their choice. Of a truth, elections are not won on social media.
Imagine Labour party pulling just 195 votes in a state election. Ekiti has 16 local governments, each local government has between 10-13 wards and each ward has more than 3 poling units. If only the party agents voted in the election, will they not pull more than 195 votes? Peter Obi is a wonderful candidate but in the wrong party.

If 'online votes' have no significant effect, then why do politicians spend serious money on social media influencing? Why do we have sponsored Tinubu bots bowlingTall, robustroad etc. deceiving themselves here with fake auto-comments, shares and likes. grin

Look at how they are deceiving themselves. Who is expecting Labour to win Ekiti gubernatorial election. Social media or not, you people will see the hurricane during the presidential election come 2023. Labour is the platform with which reasonable Nigerians will vote in Obi.

well, let the real voters collect money to vote for the wrong candidate they will definitely suffer the multiplier effect of bad leadership. We have all seen how choosing the wrong candidate can make the citizens suffer and the funny thing is most of those who voted this government suffered the most.

Lol I like how you conveniently skipped my points and reasons as to why Labor party couldn't have gained any significant votes in Ekiti and went on to rant about Obi's online popularity blah blah blah, keep track on the index of PVC collection especially by youths who are determined to vote out APC and you will perhaps tame your arrogant position a little bit! even the SE with its traditional history of voter apathy are now taking this election like the second coming of Christ, this isn't online noise anymore, I'm in the East right now and virtually every institution in the East including churches are now political grounds to galvanize people to vote, in most companies in the East you are expected to have your PVC before you get regular full time working hours...it's that serious.

Once again the SW is always going to be an APC stronghold, so there are no real surprises that APC will have traction there...general election however is a WHOLE DIFFERENT BALL GAME, anything goes at this point and even arrogant Tinubu diehards like you know deep down that APC aren't as popular as they were back in 2015 and 2019, all thanks to Buhari who crashed the fun of the party for you.

You should have done your own research instead of calling my claim a bad lie. The results of the two elections are readily available on the internet. Stop being lazy. 249,613 people voted in Anambra while 365, 438 votes in Ekiti.

Instead of the PDP to concentrate on how to dislodge APC, they are picking fight with a relatively unknown Labour party.

In fact, PDP should be ashamed of themselves for coming a distance third behind an unknown SDP in a state the PDP was in power four years ago.
