Hero beer is made by the same company that makes Trophy beer, Trophy stout, beta malt and budweiser in Nigeria.

While I was growing up Trophy beer was referred to as "ọtí Iléṣà" meaning Iléṣà beer. Most adults who were in the middle class would not touch it because they believe it's quite cheap and reserved for those who want to flex but don't have much cash to spare. Trophy beer did not gain much general acceptance until maybe after the global meltdown ( if I can remember correctly). It was only after then people started regarding Trophy as one of the cool beer brands.


Anybody who has ever taken a course in marketing will tell u the branding of hero beer that way is simply called target marketing. You offer a product and brand it such that it appeals to Ur target market who share common characteristics that influence their buying behaviors. You don't need to be Einstein to know the brand Hero beer is specifically targeted at the average esterner. There's Budweiser the same company targets at those who have a few more hundreds of naira to spend.
