Seplat is not solely owned by Dr ABC though he owns about 3% of the company. Roger Brown and some french associates are the biggest shareholders of the company. Dr AbC was one of the 6 Directors of seplat until he left few weeks ago. The Directors are all under the leadership of the CEO.

The CEO of any company is just an employee. He is just the head of the members of staff of that company. It is the board of shareholders that contains the major people. The chairman of this board is the real dawg.

Orjiakor is a co-founder of Seplat and only stepped down as the chairman of the board but he will be replaced by a NON-EXECUTIVE chairman.

The report did not say he gave up his shares, so he is still the major owner. Seplat is listed on both the Nigerian stock exchange and London stock exchange which means the company must have possibly hundreds or thousands of other share holders, so even if Orjiakor has 3% of the shares in the company, he will still be the largest shareholder there.
