Well, Tinubu in his own right as a governor, and when he was still active physically (I mean strength) did quite some job in Lagos state but not leaving the state's coffer years after leaving office has reduced any gain of such achievement in the eyes of sane Nigerians undecided

Lateef on the other hand still have solid structures built by him standing till date, from schools to estates to roads etc... He is indeed the real architect of Lagos.

For Lateef, after developing the state, he sat back in a recluse chair to admire the wonderful work he did, but same can't be said about Tinubu. What a great man; Lateef. cool cool cool... I pray Lagos have someone like Lateef soonest to sanitize the state.

What Alhaji Jakande achieved in 4 years is more than what most other governors did in 8 years.

The list is quite long (Google is there for details) but I'll mention a few.

He opened up the Lekki corridor. He constructed the VI -Epe Road. Before, you had to go through Ikorodu to get to Epe. I made that trip twice so I know for sure.

He built mini waterworks in different parts of the state to provide water.

LASU and many other institutions were built by him.

The low income housing estates all over the State are still there for everyone to see.

Lagos radio (LSBC) and television (LTV)

He stopped the 2 shift system (morning and afternoon) for schools and made education free for students. He hurriedly built classrooms to accomplish that.

Road construction and maintenance. He tried to construct a metroline which was stopped by PMB who became the Head of State shortly after.

Lateef Jakande did better by a wide margin.

The leaders we had from 1979 to 1983 were the last set of true leaders. Others ever since are more for their pockets.

As an example, lateef Jakande built the road from Lagos Island to Epe with the multiple bridges on that road without tolling it.

Our current leaders dualise about 20km of that road and place 2 toll gates on it to milk the people.

They built a single bridge to Lekki and tolled it.

There is a 10 km stretch between Epe and Ijebu ode that the are dualising now. They are already building 2 toll plaza on less the 10km road that they are building.

It is criminal to compare any modern politician with any politician of the 1979 to 1983 era.

Even governor Bakin Zuwo who kept Kano money in Kano government house was better that current Kano governor who is banking public fund in his babariga.

Comparing Lateef Jakande to Bola Tnubu is like putting Albert Einstein and a macaque on the same pedestal.

Please OP, I beg you in the name of God and whatever the fùck else you hold dear, do not ever mention Jakande in the same breath with any of these worthless monkeys that constitute the APC.

Yes, in my opinion. I witnessed the transformation.

He lived simply in his own house at Ilupeju and rode in his personal car (a white Toyota Crown). No harassing escorts in his small convoy.

He was known to be very diligent. Those who worked with him couldn't dare slack in any way. They had to be abreast of developments on a daily basis and have updates for him for decision making at every meeting. I know someone who was on his projects committee then as a young officer. They were so thorough and there was efficient management of resources unlike what obtains in every sphere now.

He built some General Hospitals and Health Centres.
Also LASUTH.

He created council areas for effective management. That was cancelled after the military takeover.

College of Education and Lagos Polytechnic.

Alausa Secretariat. (The old secretariat is close to PWD/LASUTH.)

That same population had it's challenges. That's why schools were running shifts! If others continued where he stopped, we'll have water flowing through our taps without digging boreholes in every compound as is done today.

The houses being built after his tenure were not easily accessible to the average citizen. Many junior staff benefitted from the low cost scheme then. It was payable over many years with mortgage loans at a single digit interest rate.

He introduced something similar to what we know as LASTMA today. There were long red and white buses for mass transportation and some yellow long buses for students.

Kudos to his successors for some improvements in the education sector in the urban areas.
