Every rich man in Yoruba land have one family house like that with brown roofs even Adeleke family house in Osun State, even despite the fact that the Alaafin of Oyo and Ooni of Ife are first class kings that can afford to build any mansion, you will still see brown roofed buildings in the old Palace site, instead of demolishing it and building new ones, they will abandon it and look for another land to build the new Palace, same with every kings in Yoruba land.

It is just a cultural thing for Yoruba, we want to preserve the historical significance and history the house meant to us, if you demolish, refurbish and change it, it no longer hold any historical significance.
