ABUJA POLITICIANS CANNOT SECURE IGBO LAND, HOME LAND SECURITY IS THE ONLY WAY OUT


Association of Igbo Town Unions, have declared that only an indigenous security system could save Igbo homeland from terrorists attacks.


National President of Igbo Town Unions, Chief Emeka Diwe and Prince Erondu Uche, President General of Igbo Towns in Southwest stated these in their reactions to the rising insecurity in southeast. ASETU leader told Daily Sun that the Igbo were an endangered species in Nigeria, but urged those who had not activated their indigenous security system to do so in order to be able to checkmate any security threats in their domains.


“The height of marginalization of Ndi Igbo in the scheme of things, particularly in being part of the highest security architecture in Nigeria is an eloquent testimony of the vulnerability of Igbo. “Any security structure worth its name must be indigenous security system. The Association of Igbo Town Unions is the only group that has established indigenous administrative structures (Town Unions). The Association operates at various level, from the village up to the regional and national level. So, an indigenous security that have multi-level operational independence, free from the control of the governor is what is required. The government can finance the operation but the management should be outside their control.


Meanwhile Prince Erondu Uche, the President General of Association of Southwest Igbo Town Unions (ASWITU) has blamed the Southeast Governors over the rising insecurity in the region, noting that the leaders have failed to protect their people. He stated this in a chat with TBE Magazine reporter in Akure, Ondo state. “Problem solving requires uniqueness. Each region faced with insecurity today has its root cause, so in providing solution, you have to identify the cause and make use of the right approach. Making use of a wrong approach in problem solving will only escalate it. Our Governors are yet to use to the right approach”.


Prince Erondu also noted that the only way to restore peace and curtail killings in the region is for the Southeast Governors to reorganize and complement the efforts of the TOWN UNIONS in the region. “The only way we can have a peaceful and secured environment is for the Governors to support what our Town Union leaders are doing. Politicians who live in Abuja, live in air conditioned houses and move with escorts cannot secure our villages, let the owners of the land be officially involved. This is where the Town Unions come in”. He concluded.

How are they a non Igbo security association when all their members are Igbo?

As for conventional Nigerian security , just say the word and we will have them withdrawn entirely from the blighted SE and let's see how that will go in less than 48hrs of their exit.

These people are incapable of self governance beyond the Kindred hamlet setting.
