President Muhammadu Buhari says the stability of Chad and all neighbouring countries is in Nigeria’s interest. The president spoke when he received Brah Dallah, a special envoy from Mahamat Deby, the transitional president of Chad, at the state house, Abuja, on Friday.

Buhari, who spoke on the virtues of good neighbour-liness, said exclusion will create more danger for countries and their future generations. “We are genuinely concerned, and I am sincerely impressed with the leadership of the country in stabilizing the polity,” he said.

“It was the belief in good neighbourliness that made me first visit Chad, Niger Republic, Cameroon, and Benin Republic when I came in 2015. “The more exclusion we create, the more we endanger present and future generations of our countries.”

Buhari said the relationship between Nigeria and Chad transcended that of neighbours, adding that the late President Idriss Deby “kept me constantly briefed on developments in the country”. The president said he would “keep an ear to the ground, monitor developments closely,” as Chadians hold their national dialogue.

He also offered Nigeria’s support to the country.Chad is scheduled to hold a sovereign national dialogue on August 20. In his remarks, Dallah, who is also the country’s minister of public works, extolled the relationship between Nigeria and Chad.

He said the outcome of the national dialogue “would be respected, and not tampered with”, adding that recommendations would be “scrupulously implemented”. He said over 99 percent of Chadians are interested in, and taking part in the national dialogue, including main rebel groups. “We need the support of Nigeria during and after the event,” he added.

Stability Of Chad In Our Interest, Says President BuhariAugust 19, 2022 in Latest News, Press Releases

The stability of Chad Republic, and, indeed, all our neighboring countries, is in our interest, President Muhammadu Buhari has said. The President spoke Friday at State House, Abuja, while receiving a Special Envoy from the Transitional President of Chad, General Mahamat Idris Derby.

Chad holds a Sovereign National Dialogue August 20, 2022, and according to the Special Envoy, Mr Brah Mahamat Dallah, “the outcome would be respected, and not tampered with.”

President Buhari said relations between Nigeria and Chad transcended that of neighbors, as the late President, Marshal Idris Derby Itno “kept me constantly briefed on developments in the country.”

Speaking further on the virtues of good neighborliness, the President said “common sense makes it extremely important that we be interested in the stability of Chad Republic, as it is in our own interest.

“We are genuinely concerned, and I am sincerely impressed with the leadership of the country in stabilizing the polity. It was the belief in good neighborliness that made me first visit Chad, Niger Republic, Cameroon, and Benin Republic when I came in 2015. The more exclusion we create, the more we endanger present and future generations of our countries.”

President Buhari said he would “keep an ear to the ground, monitor developments closely,” as Chadians hold the National Dialogue, and offered the support of Nigeria in any form required.

The Special Envoy, who is also the country’s Minister of Public Works, extolled the long relationship between Nigeria and Chad, and indicated that over 99% of Chadians were interested in, and taking part in the National Dialogue, including main rebel groups.

He said the parley was sovereign, and the conclusions would be scrupulously implemented. We need the support of Nigeria during and after the event,” he added.

So Nigeria so much desires a political stabilisation of the surrounding regional countries while this nation itself is enmeshed in multi-faceted ethno-religio-political problems under this useless govt? Have you seen the US will never pursue any foreign policy that is not beneficial to it.

So how does the nations of Chad, Niger Republic, Mali contribute to our development that we are always ready to play the father Christmas big brother roles for? Case of chasing rats when your house is on fire.

Many don't understand regional security.... They don't understand west African coast and regional politics

*Why do we need peace in Chad , Niger and Cameroon?!

Nigeria doesn't have any physical bother , and anyone can enter Nigeria anytime, if any criminal leaves Chad their destination is southern Nigeria where. Oil flows

*Why do Nigeria provide electricity to neighbours?!

River Niger supplies water to turn turbines that power our grid, and if other west African countries break the flow then Nigeria would have nothing to use in turning our turbines

This has been his goal.
If keep the borders safe is the key, then let us spread it to Benin Republic, Cameroon, and to Niger.

Sad to say, Cameroon and Benin are the two countries that Nigeria has forbids relationship with. For no reason. Many Nigerians do not know that Cameroon are our neighbors too.

Take your time to look up the websites of all top companies in Nigeria who get government contracts. Our politicians children are heading them. The reason why all government projects remain uncompleted is because the josses will never prosecute their children. Ever wondered why there is always a white or brown head in all those inspection pictures? Indian and Lebanese Muslims are helping our leaders siphon money out of this country to their countries and neighboring safe havens.

The richest man in India subsidized calls and internet data to aid his brothers develop in the IT world. Today, they are a hot sauce for IT immigration. They have sort of taken over that space. We sit here in darkness twerking and watching BBN. Things are getting harder. The Naira is on the world's longest down slide. Salaries are not budging. So, for a civil servant to build a house, he needs to produce a yahoo yahoo son or steal from office. if not, it is impossible.

Nigerian youths are home watching BBN when their counterparts are graduating with honors. To find a 23 year old with masters is a rarity in Nigeria. PHD students are already in their 40ies or 50ies and they pose in their dirty garment joyfully. it is shocking but factual.

Nigeria is a slum. You can't even show someone pictures of your country online. The over valued houses, if you view the aerial pictures you will wonder what you just paid for. Nigeria looks like a rusted zinc from the sky. If you fly at night, it look like Gorilla's poopss. The faces of the people on the street are harder than steel. It is just frightening to say the least.

I know what Baba Buhari is thinking

But the next Railway outside Nigeria is from Lagos through Cotonou and Lomé to our Ga and Ewe relatives in Accra Ghana

Or from Calabar through Bakassi to Bamenda in Cameroon

The SW has Tribal relatives in Benin Republic, Togo and Ghana and

Awalokan !!!!

And we have the Commercial Traffic to justify it!!

Baba is not the only one with relatives outside Nigeria

We have them too

True!

All those freely fighting for boko haram now are recruited from countries around us with instability.

Those who claim they want to rescue Nigeria are too consumed with bigotry to understand that Buhari is right.

We see how instability crept from Imo to Anambra, and made attempts to set foot in Delta.

We have not even talked about the humanitarian crisis that would be borne by Nigeria just like how some neighbouring countries had to accept Biafran refugees during the civil war.

We are all aware of how the unstable Somalia has affected all shippers plying the horn of Africa, with pirates attacking from their land bases that are under the control of different warlords and terrorist groups. While Tanzania and Kenya continue to suffer terrorist attack that are planned by freely moving al-Shabab terrorists resident in Somalia.

But the ones who want to save us are too incapacitated by their mindlessness until they have received training in Egypt.
