The Federal government did us no favor by awarding the surveillance contract in the first place to a son of the Niger Delta. It is like somone paying you to watch over your fathers property which is your inheritance and you turn around to start thanking such a person. The Crude oil in the Niger Delta belongs to the people of the Niger Delta. We have seen how the North would have behaved if Oil was abundant in the north. We must be bold to look ourselves in the face and tell each other truth. My only fear is the fact that the more money goes to Tompolo and his boys the more arms they buy to keep oppressing other Ethnic groups whenever there is a dispute between Ijaws and others. ijaws are Valiant, but they are War mongers 9 Likes 2 Shares |

Don't worry. This country will soon split. Each of us can now develop according to our interest and ability. No more forced existence of Nigeria. 3 Likes |

This govt is not serious. How can they give Tompolo 4 billion per month for surveillance? Here in Saudi, they have a organized advanced system that monitors all the oil installations in the kingdom via a live satellite feed. They have a gigantic screen which shows all the oil pipelines and wells in all the kingdom monitored in a room. No need to waste money paying anybody. Chai Naija needs help. 5 Likes |

If the Deltans are not into bunkering and stealing of crude. We wouldn't have needed to waste so much money on surveillance. Sheer waste of resources. |

Oritna94:overthere in Saudi, do they marginalised the community that owns the oil and do they loot the money made from oil or is it use for the betterment of all the citizens? |

SadiqBabaSani: Kinda my worry too. Why pay one man to coordinate surveillance activities when you can open an agency that recruit the indigenes of the locality where such pipe run with these exclusively mutual of each other. You can then give this person a political position yo head such agencies such that other government or administration who wishes to change leadership can. Better still, pass it down to the states government. Empowering individuals may have its consequences. |
