What Atiku should have done was to call Wike to one side and ask him to nominate a VP candidate, preferably a Senator from Rivers. That way, Wike won't be an issue but Wike will feel important. But Atiku being Atiku, sense is far from him and he usually loses political battles.

The way things are going, Atiku will lose even Delta where Okowa comes from. Atiku will also lose those states whose Governors share Wike's views. Ortom, Makinde and others not talking. Devils like Obaseki will do Atiku shege.

Atiku said he wants an Igbo as vice. Wike said he's not Igbo and has been anti Igbo. Why should Atiku choose someone that won't give him enough Igbo support? It's all calculation. Okowa is the next best for him in the absence of Obi. There's no influential Igbo governor that can pull weight for PDP for Atiku than Okowa. This is where Umahi could have come handy has he not foolishly joined APC.
