She might actually be skinny because the tumor will use most of the calories going into her body to survive thereby resulting in the rest of her body not getting enough calories. Removing the tumor will make her gain weight, because her body has been starving all this while, and will be in survival mode with reduced metabolism. Any calories going into her body will be hoarded as fat . After her body gets all the nutrients it needs, it will let go of any excess weight without her dieting.
