This idiot still found a way to bring tribalism to play.
SensualMan:
The rape amongst the yoruba tribe is becoming alarming. At the end, the rape victim gets pregnant and gives birth to Urchins, nuisance, touts and the number of good for nothing Yorubas keep quadrupling.

A vaccine should be administered on this things at birth to render them nonsterile.

Yes, a convict can appeal for bail even at the appellate court to the Supreme court if the court finds merit in his application.
If his bail is granted at the CA or SC , and the final judgement affirms the decision of the High court, he will start his sentence forthwith.

I wonder how often appellate and supreme courts grant such bail request from a convict.

Isn’t there a fear that the convict may jump bail, and never serve the prescribed custodial sentence if appellate court upholds ruling?

It does seem wise a decision to grant a convict bail.

What’s the reasoning, if I may ask

Much as the conditions attached to granting such application are strict, yet the courts have granted them in many instances.

Now ask yourself what level of compensation will suffice for a person convicted and have served his terms only for the apex court to nullify his conviction. Can money fully compensate him for the freedom, love, peace, family bond , financial gains he would have had but lost as a result of his detention?

None will suffice in a case of innocence, but not in one where the appellate court nullifies a conviction based on technicality.

I wonder what technical ground Baba Ijesha is using to fight his conviction since the video evidence and victim’s testimony have proven beyond doubt he (Baba Ijesha) did assault a minor?

The court is not an emotional court; it's court of fact and evidence. Irrespective of the weight of the allegations and evidence presented , all parties still need to present their sides of the stories.

That being said, the application for bail does not validate or invalidate the conviction of the offender. It merely postpones the "evil day" to the time where the offender will have no straw to clinch on. Till then, all and every available opportunities must be fully utilised within the ambit of the law.
So, let the court decide his fate.
