Labour Party Knocks Sanwo-Olu Over Closure Of Ladipo, Oyingbo Markets

The Labour Party, (LP) has condemned the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led government over the closure of Ladipo and Oyingbo markets in the state due to claims of indiscriminate waste disposal by traders.

Naija News reports that Lagos State Government had recently announced that it will be shutting down both Ladipo and Oyingbo markets in the state indefinitely by Thursday 22nd September 2022 due to claims of indiscriminate waste disposal by traders.

According to the state government, the traders were guilty of reckless waste dumping, non-payment for waste services, and general poor waste management.

Reacting to the development, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Arabambi Abayomi, in a statement on Monday night, accused the All Progressives Congress-led government of being an “intolerant and highly crude government”, adding that “being completely dictatorial, Hitlerite and recklessly very undemocratic is what it is now being known” of the government.

He further expressed shock at the development and frown at the excuse, describing it as “deceptive” and accusing the government of being intolerant, discriminatory and oppressive.

He also quoted the Nigerian constitution, which guarantees every citizen the freedom to live and work in any part of the country, warning that people’s rebellion are born by oppressive and wicked Governance.

But why do we have this market issue every year, and every month?

Imagine the Dubai government closing down Dubai mall.
Nigerian authorities represent the highest level of irresponsibility on earth.
Some decisions they make, I always ask myself; is this decision made by a human being? Or goat?
If you ask, they will say we are playing politics, useless politics.
The government is dirty, why won't the country be dirty?

Note: My comments are not based on any tribal or religious sentiments.
I am only making general suggestions
Those markets can be closed section by section.

Labour Party should stop playing to the gallery.

Who doesn't know that traders don't like rules?

In fact, they are also very dirty and stubborn. That's why most Nigerian marketplaces are dirty.

If shutting down the market will make them have sense, so be it.

Because you want to sound unbiased you end up surpporting evil. Are the Igbo dominated markets the dirtiest markets in Lagos? What of markets dominated by Yorubas and Hausas? Be wise and sincere for once.

First, there's nothing like Igbo market in Lagos. Lagos State is a Yoruba land.

Secondly, even the big markets in Aba, Onitsha and Enugu are dirty.

I don't do that tribalism nonsense with you people. I say it the way it is. If you don't like it, I don't give a hoot.

I remember when a colleague told me about an apartment in Lagos she was trying to get and then the landlord told her straight up that he doesn't want igbo.

this was after we argued once where I said that Yoruba are the least tribalistic in the country only after Edo

BATified2023:
u sabi wetin Igbo tenants dey use people eye see
Once their rent due like this, they will prefer to take u to court n use 6 months free than pay d money

2 people I no fit put for house na police n igbo

SugarGirl44:

Her house her rules.
So what should we do with this info?

Snapchat:

The landlord doesn’t want someone like Charley Boy in his house. It’s a known fact that Ibos are always difficult to deal with. They show it online too.

Tonnierichy:

Igbos are basically impossible to deal with as tenants. They'll almost chase you out of your own house. And ohhh! They can be soooo dirty

Ladipo has become a pandemic and needed to be overhauled. That place is filled will thieves, miscreants and armed robbers. Good one from Sanwo Olu.

Update:
Why is Labour party issuing this statement? Is Labour party a igbo/regional party? Are there only igbo traders in those markets? Igbos exposed

This Labor party leaders keep getting more insane by the day.

We have several case of closure of Ladipo market for their dirtiness at different time in the past decades and yet the LP think it is out of the ordinary for doing this?

At this rate, even when someone commit murder in Lagos, these foolish guys will still blame the government for prosecuting them.

Lagos should just ignore their noise and proceed with making sure the state is sanitized from these dirty pigs.

Why should a certain group of people always blackmail government of another state everytime when it’s not only them that reside in the state?

Below is last year closure.

The same Laborer in vain party that jubilate when Lagos was rated among the less livable city in the world.
Now the government is trying to rehabilitate and refurbish some part of public places and the useless labour in vain party have turned it to politics

Labour in Vain Party should focus on their failed projects and allow Lagos govt to carryout what he is elected for.

So because you're looking for votes now, anything goes abi?
Very irresponsible take.

I know those cave men from the potopoto region will applaud you.
But you have to be careful when those cannibals cheer you on, they only do that when they know you're taking a self-destructive action.

Their manipulative tactic is one of a kind, you have really ja to notice it.

They want Lagos to be as backward as their states so we can be on the same level.
