Need advice on my 2007 Honda Accord by Unruly7(m): 9:09pm On Sep 27, 2022 |
Good evening all My Honda 2007 D indicator on dashboard is always blinking once the car is on driver The issue started on Friday after I asked an electrician to check all the fuses in the car to make sure they all pass currents he removed all the fuse and use little naked wire to bridge all the fuse and suck them back. I went to my mechanic and he said it’s my gear sensor that needs servicing after servicing the sensor and changing of gear oil, I start the car and the blinking stop at some point it started again, it seems the blinking comes on when the car is hot or so My Gear selects well Engine is sound The 2 problems I’m having now is 1) the D blinking 2) once I’m on hold up with AC my car sounds as if it’s not getting enough fuel supply be sounding like it once to off. Like there’s a cut in fuel supply. I’m in Abuja please what can you suggest because I want to take it to mechanic or electrician I don’t even know. |

There’s a Honda maintenance thread where you can post issues concerning your car here in case of next time. 1. Why did you initially ask your mechanic to check the fuses? What issue were you experiencing before then? 2. What transmission oil did your mechanic use when he changed the gearbox oil? You need to find someone like an auto electrician who has a scanner and pay him to scan your vehicle and then bring the codes here. If you can buy a scanner for yourself better. The cheap ones cost about N5k - N7k on Jumia or konga 1 Like |

Your gear switch is most likely bad or gear is leaking oil, and for the rough idle try to reset your car with a very good car scanner.. if it doesn’t work get a new temperature sensor |

Unruly7: Make sure you give a gear specialist to fix it, also note that they don’t need to completely loose down the gear to fix the seal... |

Unruly7: Did you try scanning that car? Don't just rush to change gear. Learn to scan your car before u start throwing money around. I bought my car april this year. I changed all fluid except gear fluid. All was good till on july 10 my D started blinking when driving. I called my mechanic and he asked me to drive carefully home. Next day, I went to his office. He checked it and said the oil was due for change. We bought honda Dw-1 and changed it and I took it out for a drive and the D started blinking again. I took it back and he loosed one part and cleaned it very well with carb cleaner. Said water touched those parts. Seems it is called a gear switch or so. That was when it rained very well earlier this year and many parts of lagos was flooded and i was ignorantly swimming through water as if my car was a submarine. After cleaning it, we took it for a drive. then scanned and saw an error code and he cleared the error code. Till today sept 28th, My D has not blinked again and my gear selects good and fine. I also learnt to avoid swimming through water because honda gears are down according to him and water is not good for it. I even have my own portable Bluetooth scanner now. So easy. Scan your car first. |

Unruly7:As you are getting a new gearbox please you may equally need to change your mechanic as Abro oil which he put is a killer of gearbox especially Honda. Get original Honda gear oil for the new gearbox |
