Bikers event in Gombe state!

So I did a little plastic welding today on my side fairings, sanded down the welded joints and sanded out the scratches and a then wrapped it with a black carbon fibre finish wrap. Also replaced the sliders with an old one I had in storage for my old bike.
The red doesn't fit Simba but she has to manage it for now!

Clutch cable and Clutch lever
Was riding out to a meeting on Friday, while turning within the compound the clutch cable cut at the middle into almost equal parts, I conclude it's the point I had a cable tie hold it down to prevent it from rubbing against the ignition when turned fully left.
Brought out my spare, installed and tested, there and the the clutch lever broke! At the point where the cable attached to the lever.
Disassembled and glued the part together then reassembled and allowed to set.
Next day went out with Simba and at about 8km into the trip the welded joints gave way!!🤬🤬 Had to push it off the road to business.
Called for the lever no luck!
Went to oyingbo couldn't find a replacement!
I was left with two options
1. Weld the broken lever (couldn't be done same day in 3days)
2. Order the part online (would arrive in 4weeks)

I went with option 3! Retrofit regular qlink/bajaj lever. Did this with a spare clutch lever I had at home.
Voila! We are back on the road!

Same here. I have a guy that has 5 different collections of my favorite dream bikes. I have a 250r and I have never beaten him in a race. Even when he's riding his lowest cc which is a Taro 400r. He is probably the only one with a 2018 Ninja H2 in the whole of Ondo state.

Whenever I want to envy him, I pinch myself cos I don't even know what he does for a living. 😂

Front wheel removal.
So I had to do an fork seal replacement which requires removal of the front wheel. Unfortunately for me the design on BMW f800st axle shaft is not the bolt design where the right sized spanner or socket can easily be used, it's a pipe! And requires a special tool to loose.
So I had to fabricate my own tool to use as I couldn't source one locally and immediately.

So I bought bolt with 22mm and 2nr nuts, welded them together and it worked. Although the bolt broke as can be seen between pic 3 and 4.
The weld point acted as the stopper

Sure I know the fit, I do my oil change myself, it's not rocket science actually. Thanks bro. Mine is a beginner's bike, CBR 250R. Just 300cc but I'm currently negotiating with dealer to buy the CBR 1000R with about 1000cc cos I feel I'm experienced enough to handle bigger motorcycle now.

You have a 250cc bike, not 300cc and you'll use the HF112. I'm currently out of stock. Fanfare oil M-4T+ 10W40 is your oil. Don't use regular automotive oil as your engine and gearbox shares the same oil.

How do you want to beat a 400cc in the hands of an experienced rider with a 250cc?

Trip to gombe
The trip was an interesting one!
Total distance from Lagos to Gombe was about 1,280km.
From Gombe to my house was 1,230km
Total distance covered during the trip was about 2,610km
Bike
mine was Simba (BMW F800ST)
Ride partner BMW K1300S

Challenges
- Ride partner couldn't wait for me, joined another group
- rode through a heavy blinding rain that caused...
- my fuel pump controller to die at lokoja
- ride partner had several tyre issues on the road
- ride partner had a bad front bearing on our way back
- some overzealous security operatives

Instead of going through Epe I went through the 3rd mainland bridge to meet with my ride partner, the plan was to hit Jos that night, on getting to the meet point he had left with another group. So I continued jejely on my own and at my pace!
