Peter Obi, standard bearer of the Labour Party (LP), was absent on Wednesday when his presidential campaign council unveiled its members.

Datti Baba-Ahmed, the vice-presidential candidate of the LP, also failed to show up at the event.

While the event was ongoing, Obi tweeted that he was attending the 52nd Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) conference.

“I just arrived at the 52nd ICAN Annual Accountants Conference. -PO,” the former governor of Anambra wrote.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Doyin Okupe, director-general of the campaign council, said the processes through which Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar emerged as presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are “dishonourable” and “flawed”.

“In all honesty, these errors of selfish and opportunistic political manipulation are not only short-sighted and dangerous, but strike at the very heart of Nigeria’s peaceful coexistence, and in fact the very survival of the nation as an entity,” Okupe said.

And that is why, in response to this affront to good judgement, more than at any time in our history, our country is today witnessing her hottest, fiercest and most dynamic citizen-led political experience, spearheaded largely by the youth population.

The director-general of the LP campaign described the ‘Obidient’ movement as organic.

“At this juncture, for the avoidance of doubt, let me state here clearly that our party, the Labour Party, as well as the Obi-Datti presidential ticket of the party, have not spent a kobo to organise, influence, or secure the massive following and support we have been getting from the Obidient Movement to date,” he added.

The job was delegated to Okupe, and Okupe have shown great capacity to handle and manage the LP presidential campaign activities, so there is no cause for alarm.
His Excellency Peter Obi can use the opportunity of ICAN conference to further sell their candidacy

As a regular visitor in Anambra close to 20 years now, not only do i come to AWKA, the capital, I move from Nnewi, Uga, to ,Ekwulobia, Akwuzu, Umueze, Nnewi, Nnobi, Awka Etiti, Ogidi, Ochanja, Oba old and new Road, Ichi, Ichida, Agulu.Usofia, Enugu, Abagana,Oshe, Nkpor, Limca Road,Ihiala,Enugu/ Ukwu, Onyeagwu, Abagana,.

No community is new to me in Anambra. before Obi became Gov , I have been vsiting Anambra till tomorow. Obi has no single footprints in the state.
Ebonyi state has more infrastructure achievement than Anambra. Kano, Kaduna are not the same level with Anambra.

Dont let anyone sweet talk you , If tommorow , I have the opportunity to vote an easterner, I will not hesitate to vote , the present GOV of Ebonyi, David Umahi.

I totally agree, we are not where we supposed to be, but Obi is never an option, do not vote because Obi is a Christain, vote because of the antecedents and records of each candidate.

Obi can not give what he does not have. Absu, Anambra state university, went on 7 months strike during Obi administration.MEDICALS dOCTORS in anambra enjoyed their own13 months strike same under Obi.{ Pls goggle and see}

It is obvious Labour Party and Peter Obi are not on the same page, and that is why in the first place, they made public different account number for fund raise. Labour Party wan chop money, but obi no wan give shishi. werey think say na like this dem dey win election? who and who are going to represent him and mobilize people for him in different local government??

Okupe probably has forgotten that Peter jumped from PDP to LP at the last minute to steal the presidential ticket from the originally intended aspirant of the party. WHereas both ATiku and TInubu had to go through due process before they eventually clinched the ticket.

Okupe must be really high on weed. haha

This LP are just joking because it takes more than this mass movement to win an election.
No strategy at all and they are thinking that this election will be fair they are deceiving themselves. They will be lots of intimidations by both APC and PDP in most polling unit especially in their control states. When they talk about structures to win an election you guys will understand latter. You think in south south especially Delta that I am the election will be fair. You may not see the intimidation in some towns but in the villages and riverine area, those places you won't see Obi getting even 1 in the polling unit and they are hundreds of voters in those villages. Una go understand better when they start calling results of south south.
