The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, on Tuesday, appeared to have withdrawn support for the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

Ortom accused Atiku of denigrating him as governor and working against the interest of the people of Benue.

The Benue State governor seemed to have been angered by Atiku’s comments on the recent killings by suspected herdsmen in his state.

Recall that Atiku appeared to have justified the recent killings in Benue State by Fulani herders when he said that the condemnable acts were due to “sustained clashes between farmers and herders.”

His comments are coming on the heels of the elder statesmen in Benue, Minda Leaders of Thoughts’, withdrawal of support for Atiku, accusing him of hate speech and profiling of Benue people.

However, Governor Ortom accused Atiku of working with Miyetti Allah, a herdsmen group notoriously known for carrying out outrageous killings.

“It was not correct for a presidential candidate who is seeking to rule the people to say that kind of thing.

“It was very wrong. And it would appear that he doesn’t even reference me and consider me to be a Governor of my state,” he said

Except you have a strong record of SLAVERY in your lineage, a true Nigerian in his right senses knows that Buhari is not supposed to hand over to his Northern Fulani muslim.

Ortom is as confused as Abuja weather. He siad he can't support Obi because he is a PDP man. A PDP man that is not supporting his candidate is free to support any other candidate. Ortom should follow his Boss( Wike) and support Tinubu. Unlike Wike, Benue has Strong men behind( David Mark, Ayu etc) to give Atiku the needed votes. Ortom is unpopular in Benue because he failed woefully, same goes to the Abia guy. PDP wi only miss Wike and Makinde, the other 3 governors are very useless.

Wike has played all his card. Nothing new again. Latest is the sacking of APC governorship candidates so there won't be any opposition to fix his boy as the governor. He can now come out fully and work for Tinubu with his 50k political advisers to buy vote and also intimidate voters. Atiku camp knows this. Wike and his camp are backing Tinubu including the SE governors that has refused to back their brother (Obi). Wike loud mouth and moise is even marketing Atiku more in the North, even in Kano is is Kwankwaso strong base, the people (including Kwankwaso supporters) say they will vote for Atiku because they know Kwankwaso can't win and they won't waste their vote on him..Wike is shouting Ayu must go and blaming it on Atiku. Atiku is not the one that put Ayu as chairman, so Atiku can't remove Ayu, as a matter of fact, Wike put Ayu as the chairman hoping Ayu will do his bidding but he forgot he was dealing with a master(Atiku) in the game of politics. An aveeno northerner is more politically intelligent than a southerner, they don't make noise, they act.

Atiku is from a micro size tribe in the north, he fear to anger hausa or fulani in his actions or statements.

He cannot be a good president in this big insecurity situation.

Just a post on social media by even a villager could make atiku nervous.

David Mark doesn't really care who becomes president anymore, he is retired, Ayu can only win his family's vote for Atiku. Though Ortom has performed woefully as a governor but he still owns PDP in the State, besides no right thinking Benue man will vote for another Fulani man after what they have seen under Buhari. If you don't know Ortom is the king of grassroot politics. Atiku has lost Benue technically.
