The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has said those opposing its interests in 2023 will be defeated.

The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Amb George Obiozor, stated this at the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Day organised by the Uk and Northern Ireland chapter on Saturday.

Obiozor, according to a statement by the spokesperson of the group, Chief Alex Ogbonnia, said the Igbo had experienced various travails in Nigeria but noted that the only option before them was to remain focused, imaginative, audacious, unflappable, and united.

He said, “As 2023 approaches, we must remain our brother’s keeper. Ndigbo at home have shown tremendous zeal, commitment, and support to the position of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and, therefore, I urge every Igbo to reflect deeply on the Igbo dilemma. As I stated in my inaugural speech in 2021, ours is a righteous cause. Those who oppose us will be defeated, for unlike them, we do not seek to dominate, control or humiliate our fellow citizens or fellow humanity.”

It's by chance that he is an Igbo man. So, please people like you should not make him be seen as an Igbo presidential aspirant.

He could have come from any other tribe in the country. The love and acceptance that the whole of Nigeria has shown him could not have come from religious or ethnic considerations.

Peter Obi and his presidential vice candidate are like a vehicle that Nigerians who are tired of the wicked 'rulers' are using to tell those in authority now that we are no longer the foolish electorate that the politicians used to know.

We are now wiser.

Peter Obi is not inducing the crowd that attendants presidential rallies with financial gratification. The people come to his rallies on their own. They pay for their transportation and feeding, does that not tell a story? Please Sir don't come and jeopardize Nigerian chances with any unguided sentimental speeches. After all, Rochas Okorocha also had the same ambition but never succeeded.
